Overview
In a team environment, under the general supervision and direction of the Manager Plant Operations Dehcho/Sahtu, the Casual Plant Superintendent is responsible for the day-to-day operation and maintenance of the power generation facility to ensure the safe, efficient and reliable operation of the diesel generating units, plants and their respective auxiliary equipment. Casual employment is on an as-and-when basis and full time hours are not guaranteed. The Casual Plant Superintendent will also be responsible for managing plant inventory levels, assisting area and contract maintenance crews, recording generation data, and performing general housekeeping duties.

Qualifications
- High School Diploma (or equivalent) PLUS one (1) year related mechanical or electrical experience or plant operator training OR a minimum of Grade 10 education WITH three (3) years' relevant work experience. Equivalencies may be considered.
- Ability to work in a team environment with minimum direct supervision in a location that is remote from the regional office.
- Good verbal and written communication skills to maintain effective, open, and reliable communications with team members, customers, and community representatives.
- Excellent knowledge of safety regulations and procedures.
- Proficient in computer applications such as email, spreadsheets and word processing software is asset.
- A valid First Aid and CPR certification would be an asset.
- A full and valid Class 5 driver’s license is required.
The pay for this casual position is $42.96 per hour, plus 10% vacation pay. No housing or relocation assistance provided.
