The Hotel Maintenance Technician is responsible for assisting with the operation, maintenance, service, and repair of equipment as assigned. This person is also responsible for participating in the preventative maintenance program, handling guest or residents’ requests and other work orders as assigned. This is a full-time position that offers a comprehensive medical, dental & vision insurance, paid time off, 401k company matching and career growth.
You must be able to work weekends. The location is Holmes Beach, FL
What you have
High school diploma, or GED, or trade school or equivalent.
2 years or more proven experience in hotel/resort building systems, or within hospitality or vacation rental settings.
Experience in one or more trades including: plumbing, electrical, HVAC, mechanical, fire alarm systems, and carpentry.
Good English language skills to communicate with team members and guests.
Strong customer service skills.
Technology skills. The ability to use tablets, iPads, and/or computers for maintenance tracking and reporting purposes.
Ability to work long hours if needed.
Ability to work effectively in stressful, high pressure situations and handle challenges in the workplace, including anticipating, preventing, identifying, and solving problems as necessary.
Ability to work on multiple tasks, making appropriate progress towards deadlines.
Ability to work independently, take direction, and provide direction to others.
Maintain the highest degree of confidentiality .
What you’ll do
Handle all guest concerns/complaints in a timely manner, maintaining a positive impression with the guest on resolving any concerns/complaints. Follow-up to ensure complaints or problems are resolved and action is taken to avoid recurrence.
Conduct routine inspections to maintain a clean, safe and highly performing property.
Responsibilities include daily set up of beach chairs and umbrellas, keep the grounds/common areas neat and pick up trash and debris from exterior perimeter.
Perform general maintenance on all equipment (i.e. boilers, chillers, HVAC – Heating Ventilation and Air Conditioning, electrical, etc.).
Maintain repair and preventative maintenance records.
Report emergencies and safety hazard immediately and assist with safety concerns.
Communicate daily activities and work orders internally.
Greet all guests encountered on the property, according to Mainsail standards.
Comply with local, state and Federal codes.
Other necessary duties and projects as assigned.
Physical Demand
Ability to do heavy lifting at times – exerting in excess of 100 pounds of force occasionally, and/or 50 pounds of force frequently and/or 20 pounds constantly to lift, carry, push, pull, otherwise move objects.
