Job Description​

Saint Luke’s in Kansas City is actively seeking a dedicated hospitalist to join our team at our critical access hospitals in Garnett and Iola, Kansas. These facilities, with 12 and 15 beds respectively, play a vital role in providing care to the communities of Allen and Anderson County.

About the position

• Quality, compassionate care is provided by the physician with the support of APP’s and an excellent team of nurses

• Telemedicine services are provided by hospitalists from Saint Luke’s in Kansas City 

• Option to work a 7-on-7-off schedule or other flexible schedule

• 12-hour shifts covering adult patients  

• An on-call eHospitalist provides call coverage/backup for adult admissions after hours; no night call is required 

• Fully integrated Epic EMR  

• Full array of specialist support with a built-in transfer program directly to Saint Luke’s Hospital, a 600-bed tertiary care hospital located 90 miles away in Kansas City, MO 

• The ideal candidate is a BC/BE Internal Medicine or Family Medicine physician with excellent inpatient skills

About Allen County Regional Hospital

Allen County Regional Hospital is a part of Saint Luke’s, the West Region of BJC Health, one of the largest nonprofit health care organizations in the United States. The critical access hospital serves Iola, Kansas, and the surrounding area. Services include a state of-the-art Emergency Department, advanced imaging, general surgery, inpatient care, inpatient and outpatient rehabilitation, senior life solutions, and wound care. The hospital is designated a Level IV Trauma Center. Allen County Regional Hospital’s specialty clinic offers access to specialists in a wide variety of specialty areas. Allen County Regional Hospital provides streamlined access to Saint Luke’s expansive network of resources for patients requiring advanced care, ensuring residents receive compassionate care from some of the most experienced physicians in the nation in specialties such as cardiology, neurology, and oncology.

Anderson County Hospital is a part of Saint Luke’s, the West Region of BJC Health, one of the largest nonprofit health care organizations in the United States. Anderson County Hospital provides comprehensive health care services to Garnett, Kansas, and the surrounding communities. With a modern facility, patients benefit from the latest advances in health care while staying close to home. The hospital is a designated Level IV Trauma Center with on-site transport and helipad, inpatient care and outpatient surgery and rehabilitation, laboratory and imaging services, including 3D mammography, highly trained physicians and specialists at Anderson County Specialty Clinic, and the Residential Living Center.
