Project
Ensure stability, performance, and reliability of the 4G/5G Core network by resolving complex incidents, supporting architecture decisions, and coordinating with vendors. Drive rapid issue resolution, identify risks and optimization opportunities, and enhance operational maturity while enabling knowledge transfer and aligning Core operations with NOC performance and service quality objectives.
Role
- Perform advanced troubleshooting across EPC and 5GC components (MME, SGW, PGW, AMF, SMF, UPF, IMS).
- Investigate and resolve high-priority (P1/P2) incidents impacting core network services and subscriber connectivity.
- Analyze signaling flows and protocols (S1AP, NGAP, GTP, Diameter, SIP) to identify root causes of service degradation.
- Support incident triage and escalation handling, acting as L2/L3 expert within the NOC.
- Collaborate with vendors (Huawei, Nokia) for deep technical issue resolution and patch/workaround validation.
- Review and validate core network architecture, configurations, and integration points with RAN, transport, and IT domains.
- Identify performance bottlenecks, capacity constraints, and optimization opportunities.
- Contribute to Root Cause Analysis (RCA) documentation and corrective/preventive action definition.
- Ensure adherence to operational procedures and best practices in core network management.
- Support change validation and risk assessment for planned core network activities.
- Provide technical guidance to L1/L2 engineers and support knowledge transfer initiatives.
- Monitor KPIs and recommend improvements aligned with service quality targets
We are looking for
- Bachelor's degree in Telecommunications, Computer Science, Electronics, or related field.
- 8+ years of experience in Core Network (4G/5G) operations and troubleshooting.
- Strong hands-on experience with EPC/5GC components (MME, SGW, PGW, AMF, SMF, UPF, IMS).
- Proven expertise in multi-vendor environments (Huawei, Nokia preferred).
- Solid understanding of telecom protocols (GTP, Diameter, SIP, S1AP/NGAP).
- Strong analytical, debugging, and problem-solving skills in live network environments.
- Experience handling critical incidents and working in NOC environments.
- Familiarity with performance monitoring tools and KPI analysis.
- Good scripting or automation exposure (Python, Shell) is a plus.
- Strong communication and stakeholder management skills.
- Project Location: Riyadh, Saudi Arabia.
The role follows a rotational work arrangement. Employees are typically assigned to Riyadh for an initial period of three months, followed by 15 days in their home country. This is then followed by a further three-month assignment in Riyadh. The remainder of the year is worked remotely. This rotation pattern is repeated annually.
