Position Summary:

The primary responsibility of the Warehouse Associate position is to fulfill orders placed by partner agencies accurately and quickly. Assists with performing physical inventory counts. Follows Feeding America, the American Institute of Baking (AIB), and other regulatory agencies' food storage and safety guidelines.

***This position will generally work Monday through Friday, 8 AM to 4:30 PM***

Duties/Responsibilities:

• Uses a handheld scanner to accurately and quickly fulfill partner agency orders. Manually gathers and stacks all the products listed on the order sheet onto pallets. Ensures pallets are secure, well-balanced, and labeled. Keeps all products safe from cross-contamination and damage.
• Completes the WAP as requested, which is the movement of products to lower racking levels to ensure efficiency, accuracy, and ease when fulfilling orders.
• Works with the Quality Assurance team to conduct daily cycle counts and a biannual physical inventory. Communicates product quality issues.
• Operates a standing forklift and pallet jack. Safely maneuvers equipment within an active warehouse and tight aisles. Observes all of Care and Share's warehouse safety guidelines.
• Assists with Onboarding and Training of new employees. Collaborates with and supports other employees in the distribution center to promote an innovative team environment.
• Maintains extensive knowledge of the food storage and safety standards set by Feeding America, the American Institute of Baking (AIB), and other regulatory agencies. Ensures assigned area(s) are meeting these standards. Ensures all required documentation is accurate and complete.

Requirements

Required Skills/Abilities:

• Proficient with Microsoft Office Suite (Outlook, Teams).
• High attention to detail.
• Ability to communicate.
• Must be willing to be a participating member of a high-performing team.
• Must be able to receive and maintain a forklift certification.
• Must be comfortable using various equipment including but not limited to pallet jack (electric and manual), shrink wrap machine, and power washer.
• Must be able to receive and maintain a ServSafe® Food Handler Certification.

Education and Experience:

• Warehouse/distribution center experience preferred.
• Experience operating a standing forklift highly preferred.

Physical Requirements:

• Prolonged periods of time walking, standing, lifting and operating a forklift.
• Periods of time working in very cold temperatures, including in a large freezer, cooler, and in Colorado weather.
• Must be willing to work nights or weekends occasionally for special events.
• Must be able to lift up to 50 pounds frequently.

Travel Requirements:

• Possession of a valid state issued driver's license and clean driving record preferred.
• Access to a reliable personal vehicle for work-related travel is preferred.
• Must maintain personal automobile insurance that meets company minimum coverage requirements, if a personal vehicle is used for work-related travel.
• Required travel would be rare, if ever.
