Key Responsibilities

• Perform comprehensive audiological evaluations, including hearing screenings, diagnostic hearing tests, and balance assessments when appropriate.
• Diagnose hearing and auditory processing disorders and develop individualized treatment plans.
• Fit, program, adjust, and troubleshoot hearing aids and other assistive listening devices.
• Provide auditory rehabilitation services and counseling to patients and their families regarding hearing loss, communication strategies, and device use.
• Conduct home safety assessments related to hearing impairment and recommend modifications or adaptive equipment as needed.
• Educate patients and caregivers on hearing conservation, hearing aid maintenance, and communication techniques.
• Monitor patient progress and modify treatment plans based on clinical outcomes.
• Maintain accurate and timely documentation in the electronic medical record (EMR) in accordance with agency policies and regulatory standards.
• Collaborate with physicians, speech-language pathologists, occupational therapists, physical therapists, nurses, and other healthcare professionals to coordinate patient care.
• Participate in interdisciplinary care conferences and contribute to patient care planning.
• Ensure compliance with HIPAA, Medicare, Medicaid, and other applicable federal and state regulations.
• Maintain professional competency through continuing education and adherence to evidence-based clinical practices.

Skills, Knowledge and Expertise

• Doctor of Audiology (Au.D.) from an accredited program required.

• Current state Audiologist license in good standing.
• Certificate of Clinical Competence in Audiology (CCC-A) preferred.
• Current CPR/BLS certification preferred.
• Valid driver's license, reliable transportation, and automobile insurance required for travel to patient homes.

• Minimum of 1–2 years of clinical audiology experience preferred.
• Previous experience in home healthcare, outpatient rehabilitation, or geriatric care is highly desirable.
• Experience working with older adults and patients with chronic medical conditions is preferred.

• Strong knowledge of hearing disorders, diagnostic testing, hearing aid technology, and auditory rehabilitation.
• Excellent interpersonal and communication skills with the ability to build rapport with patients and caregivers.
• Ability to work independently while managing a flexible daily schedule.
• Strong organizational, documentation, and time management skills.
• Proficiency with electronic medical records (EMR) systems.
• Commitment to providing compassionate, patient-centered care.

• Ability to travel regularly to patients' homes within the designated service area.
• Ability to lift and carry up to 25 pounds of clinical equipment.
• Ability to sit, stand, bend, kneel, and navigate various home environments safely.
• Visual and manual dexterity sufficient to perform audiological testing and hearing aid programming.

• Services are provided primarily in patients' homes and community settings.
• Frequent local travel is required.
• Exposure to a variety of home environments and occasional infectious diseases; adherence to infection prevention protocols and use of personal protective equipment (PPE) is required.
