Description

The Library Marketing and Communications Specialist role will focus on managing Saint Paul Public Library’s content strategy and storytelling to reach new audiences, increasing use of the Library, and clearly conveying the Library’s values and brand. The role also creates strategic communications plans for programs and projects among other duties. This role is part of the Marketing and Communications team of three which is responsible for raising awareness and engagement in the Saint Paul Public Library system.
Here’s what you can expect to do:- Drive the content strategy for the Marketing and Communications Team, collaborating to identify and create content across channels including email, website, social media, paid advertising, and more.
- Create and collaborate to implement strategic integrated communication and promotion plans for various library programs and initiatives.
- Coordinate special projects including, but not limited to special edition library cards and commissioned art.
- Maintain a cohesive brand identity across all digital, print, media, and campaign communications.
- Design and produce digital and print collateral, including brochures, flyers, infographics, event materials, and promotional assets.
- Employ a strong racial equity lens and incorporate this into marketing and communications strategy.

The eligible list created from this assessment will also be used to fill Public Information Specialist II positions as they become available in various departments and bargaining units within the City.

A Bachelor's Degree is required. No substitution for education. A Bachelor's Degree in Journalism, Communications, Criminal Justice, Marketing, Law Enforcement, or a related field is preferred.
Two years of experience as a Public Information Specialist I or equivalent is required.
