About the Role
The primary purpose of the Transfer Center Scheduler position is to function as a receptionist and scheduler/registrar for the University Hospital's Transfer Center including scheduling, confirming, maintaining, and monitoring patient transfers and discharges, registration, receptionist activities and other general duties.
Responsibilities
What You’ll Do
- Coordinates appropriate and timely transportation requests.
- ccurately confirms, maintains, and monitors patients’ transfer and/or discharge.
- Pre-registers transfer patients completely and accurately in the EPIC and StatCall software.
- Coordinates with Bed Management and Ambulance Communication for timely transfer, appropriate bed assignment or discharging of patient.
- Documents and records ambulance arrival times into StatCall software.
- acilitates routine, non-clinical transportation requests such as, lab work, records, surgical trays, etc.
- Develops and maintains good customer relations skills consistent with the department’s guidelines.
Qualifications
What You’ll Bring
- High school diploma or GED required; Associate degree preferred.
- Minimum of one (1) year of experience in patient registration and/or scheduling required.
- Proficient computer skills, including Microsoft Office applications.
- Excellent customer service skills required.
- Detail-oriented with strong organizational and communication skills.
- Professional telephone etiquette required.
- Ability to multitask effectively in a fast-paced environment.
- Ability to present information clearly and effectively in one-on-one and small group settings.
- Knowledge of EPIC and StatCall software preferred.

Compensation (NJ Job Transparency Law)
In compliance with New Jersey’s Pay Transparency Act, the hourly range for this position is TC/1550: Probationary Rate $23.48- Job Rate $23.98- Two (2) Year Rate $24.70.University Hospital considers multiple factors when determining compensation, including (but not limited to) the scope and responsibilities of the position, the candidate’s relevant work experience, education and training, key skills, internal equity, market data, and organizational needs.
