Head of Trading (Casa de Bolsa)

Investment team:

We are looking for a seasoned Head of Trading to become the primary market operator of Casa de Bolsa Plata, a new brokerage firm currently in its pre-operational phase, targeting CNBV licensing in the upcoming months and commencement of operations in December 2026.

You will be the first trader through the door. Before a single order is executed, you will help validate the firm's trading infrastructure — OMS connectivity, platform configuration, and trading procedures — and participate in the CNBV inspection that authorizes the firm to begin operations. From Day 1, you will execute client and proprietary orders across equity, fixed income, and derivatives markets.

If you hold a current AMIB Operador Bursátil certification, have deep experience on BMV or BIVA platforms, and want to be the founding trader of a new casa de bolsa, this role is for you.

 

Challenges that await you:

• Participate in defining trading policies and the order management procedures manual
• Validate the OMS (Order Management System) configuration from the trader's perspective
• Support connectivity testing with BMV and BIVA trading platforms
• Participate in defining the trading limits framework and pre-trade risk controls
• Participate in the CNBV commencement-of-operations inspection — trading section
• Conduct simulated trading sessions to validate the end-to-end order flow
• Once live: execute client and proprietary orders across equity, fixed income, and derivatives markets; ensure compliance with CUCB best execution and conflicts of interest rules; coordinate with back-office on trade confirmations and settlement instructions

What makes you a great fit:

• Minimum 8 years at a casa de bolsa, of which at least 5 in an active trading role
• Current AMIB certification as Operador Bursátil (Series 3) — this is a hard, non-negotiable prerequisite
• Hands-on experience with BMV SENTRA or BIVA trading platforms
• Experience with OMS/EMS systems
• Willingness to be individually registered with the CNBV and accept the personal regulatory accountability this entails
• Spanish conversational level
• English conversational level

Nice to Have:

• Experience at more than one casa de bolsa or across multiple asset classes
• Familiarity with FIX protocol connectivity
• Experience participating in a CNBV inspection process
• Experience joining an institution during its pre-operational or start-up phase
