Position Objective

(The purpose of role in current business/market scenario)

The objective would be to represent as a Key Account Management resource for the sourcing needs for precision engineering components for a wide range of b2b products offered by multiple Halma companies (Opcos). It requires work to search/create/develop/manage suppliers for Material sourcing from India to the Halma companies based across the world. The Role requires vendor management expertise, deep knowledge of technical specs and processes, besides ability to assess and audit suppliers to ensure conformance to Quality and other parameters.  The role requires close coordination with the global Opcos Operations team, working in an autonomous environment, sharing regular reports, and efforts to get more of the over 50 Halma companies to participate in the Shared Service program by building success stories over a period of time.

Responsibilities (KRAs / deliverables / job expectations)

• Create and Manage the Hub Shared Service program to promote/leverage /manage Sourcing Opportunities from India within the Opcos.
• Leverage experience and network of vendors specialising in various components (Castings / Metal machining / Plastic mould packing / PCBs / etc.) to search and identify suitable vendors.
• Research market information to identify potential suppliers (sheet metal, castings, machining, plastic & metal packing, PCBs, Medical components, etc.)  and Drive supplier selection through robust qualification processes.
• Establish, follow, and document processes from clarifying the specifications to vendor management
• Play role of an advisor to Opcos for sourcing and managing Vendors from India.
• Communicate professionally, transparently and with clarity by engaging continuously with the International Operations teams to facilitate and manage the defined expectations. This includes sending our regular monthly reports. Manage cultural and other expectation gaps b/w Opcos and vendors.
• Continuously track, assess supplier’s performance indicators, and manage conflicts which may arise.  
• Play the role of a Buyer to Manage PO released on the suppliers by the Opco’s. Negotiate and Resolve commercial
• Ensure the Quality Standards/Specs/Requirements are clearly understood. And conduct independent preliminary checks, so that chances of rejections after export of materials to Opcos is Minimised (targeting Zero rejections)
• Support sourcing for local assembly in India - which is being envisioned as part of India hub services.

Academic qualification

• BE/B. Tech/Diploma in Metallurgy / Mechanical / Chemical / Electronics Engineering

Experience (exposure)

• 7-10 Years of Experience in Material/Strategic Sourcing roles
• 2-3 Years of Experience in Global Sourcing Roles
• Varied Experience in Sourcing:  Metal – Castings, Machining /Plastic Parts / PCBs /Electronic Components sourcing
