This class introduces youth to the fundamentals of archery while promoting discipline, patience, and self-confidence in a supportive, structured environment.

We’re looking for an instructor who can provide a fun and educational experience while ensuring all participants learn proper form, equipment use, and safety practices. Whether students are picking up a bow for the first time or looking to improve their aim, your guidance will help them grow with every arrow.

Our mission and core values are brought to life by our culture. In the Y, we strive to live our cause of strengthening communities with purpose and intentionality every day. We are welcoming: we are open to all. We are a place where you can belong and become. We are genuine: we value you and embrace your individuality. We are hopeful: we believe in you and your potential to become a catalyst in the world. We are nurturing: we support you in your journey to develop your full potential. We are determined: above all else, we are on a relentless quest to strengthen our community, beginning with you.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:

  1. Lead structured 6-week archery classes with a focus on beginner skill development.
  2. Instruct youth on proper archery technique, including stance, draw, aim, and release.
  3. Ensure a strong emphasis on safety protocols at all times, including range setup, supervision, and equipment checks.
  4. Create a fun, respectful, and confidence-building environment for all participants.
  5. Modify instruction based on student age and experience to ensure skill progression.
  6. Communicate clearly with parents and guardians regarding safety, progress, and expectations.
  7. Promote YMCA values of caring, honesty, respect, and responsibility in all interactions.
  8. Maintain archery equipment and range to ensure a clean, safe, and organized environment.
  9. Perform other duties as assigned to support the overall success of the youth program.
