Job Description:

Technology is at the heart of Disney’s past, present, and future. We are Storytellers and Innovators. Creators and Builders. Engineers and Entertainers. Few places in the world combine both technological and creative excellence as uniquely as Disney. Though we’re most well-known for storytelling – innovation and pioneering technological development have always been just as much a part of our DNA.

Disney Entertainment & ESPN Product + Technology is a global team of technologists who create amazing product experiences, shape the future of media and advertising, and build systems that enable global business. Whether it’s evolving our streaming and digital products in dynamic new ways; powering industry-leading ad technology; developing technical solutions to complex challenges in data, video and audio; or reinventing how Disney’s unmatched content reaches people around the world – each day is an opportunity for your work to impact entire industries and hundreds of millions of people who engage with Disney’s beloved brands.

As part of this industry leading team, technologists in our India office are a vital part of building and advancing Disney’s media businesses worldwide. Our India-based engineers, product managers, designers, and technical project managers work hand-in-hand with other world-class Disney technologists around the world – impacting how audiences experience entertainment, sports, streaming, and news; advancing cutting-edge advertising and distribution systems; and elevating technological excellence at The Walt Disney Company.

A few reasons we think you’ll love working here:

●        Impact at scale: Build products that reach millions of consumers around the world every day, for brands that are beloved.

●        Innovation and Excellence: Develop world-class products and groundbreaking technologies that redefine how audiences experience entertainment, sports, news, advertising, and more.

●        Top Tier Technology Career: Here you can build a world-class technology career that is interconnected with creativity, leading global products and brands – and a bit of magic.

●        Global collaboration: Work alongside a diverse, global team of technologists across India, US, Europe, UK and Latin America.

Product Management is responsible for driving the overall user experience, feature strategies and concepts, and engagement paradigms for Disney Entertainment & ESPN's global portfolio of consumer-facing streaming and digital products – including Disney+, Hulu, ESPN, ABC, ABC News, Nat Geo, Marvel, and Star Wars.

This role sits within the Media Product team, whose mission is to enhance our users’ content and viewing experiences through scalable, innovative capabilities across our media ecosystem. The team owns the end-to-end systems that power the content journey for our streaming subscribers, from acquisition to exhibition, across VOD, live, and linear formats.

Our responsibilities span across ingestion, metadata model and content catalog, media encoding, operational tooling, CDN, content security, and video players. Together, our platform ensure that every piece of entertainment, sports, and news content reaches audiences reliably, securely, and in the highest possible quality.

We are a team of technologists and product leaders who obsess about delivering seamless, world-class media experiences at global scale. We partner closely with engineering, operations, and business teams to ensure our media foundation not only supports today’s streaming needs but also anticipates those of the future.

Job Summary:

We are seeking a Staff Product Development Manager to lead the development of observability and insights across both media and metadata workflows in our platform, providing deep visibility into how content moves, transforms, and evolves across the ecosystem. This role will focus on building next-generation capabilities for instrumentation, monitoring, and analysis that validate state changes, measure data quality, trigger timely alerts, and surface actionable insights to keep our platform resilient, accurate, and performant at scale.

The Staff Product Development Manager will own the roadmap for observability across Live, VOD, and metadata domains, working to establish a unified “information superhighway” that enables teams to track, analyze, and optimize flows end-to-end. By delivering robust metrics, dashboards, and alerting systems, this role ensures operational teams and engineering partners can proactively address issues, accelerate root-cause analysis, and drive continuous improvement in both media performance and metadata integrity.

Success in this role means creating a comprehensive observability framework that not only safeguards reliability but also advances metadata quality and trustworthiness, ensuring downstream systems operate on solid foundations. You will collaborate closely with engineering, operations, and product teams to define instrumentation standards, prioritize telemetry needs, and deliver data-driven tools that serve as the backbone of platform intelligence.

Responsibilities and Duties of the Role:

●Define and manage the product roadmap, including backlog ownership and prioritization for overall observability in our media platform.

●Define success metrics, forecast outcomes, and build business cases to support investment in new initiatives.

●Lead discovery efforts through user studies and journey mapping, translating insights into product requirements, documentation (e.g., briefs, PRDs), and user stories.

●Research and analyze data to generate insights, validate hypotheses, and inform product direction.

●Create initial wireframes and partner with Design to refine user interfaces and functionality.

● Participate in agile development processes, including intake, refinement, acceptance testing, and release management.

●Collaborate cross-functionally with engineering, business stakeholders, and end users to align on goals and execution.

●Track and measure the impact of products and services, reporting progress against objectives.

Required Education, Experience/Skills/Training:

●7+ years of experience in product management or a related discipline.

●Proven ability to partner with engineering teams to define technical solutions and evaluate trade-offs for prioritization and implementation.

●Strong collaboration and communication skills, with the ability to influence without authority and effectively advocate for product priorities.

●Experience working with metrics, telemetry, or data pipelines to inform product decisions.

●Demonstrated analytical thinking and comfort using data to shape hypotheses, inform product design, and validate features.

●Excellent communication skills, with the ability to articulate complex technical concepts to both technical and non-technical audiences.

Preferred Qualifications

●        Experience with large-scale media supply chain, content management systems, or digital asset management.

●        Experience with observability stacks (e.g., Prometheus, Grafana, OpenTelemetry, Datadog, Splunk, ELK).

●        Experience designing or managing instrumentation standards across multiple systems or teams.

Required Education

●        Bachelor’s degree in a relevant field required
