Overview
StepStone Family & Youth Services provides trauma informed, person centered services to individuals and families with behavioral health and community based support needs. The Community Support Specialist plays a vital role in helping individuals build skills, access resources, strengthen natural supports, and achieve greater stability and independence within their homes and communities.
We are seeking a compassionate and dedicated Community Support Specialist who is passionate about empowering individuals through trauma informed, strengths based, and individualized support. This role is ideal for a professional who values relationship building, advocacy, community engagement, and helping individuals overcome barriers while working toward meaningful personal goals.
The Community Support Specialist is responsible for providing individualized skill building and support, connecting individuals with community resources, assisting with identified treatment and service goals, monitoring progress, and maintaining accurate and timely documentation. This position collaborates closely with individuals, families, behavioral health professionals, case managers, and community partners to ensure services are coordinated and responsive to each individual's unique needs and strengths.

Responsibilities
- Provide home base case management services
- Provide Parenting Education
- Understand and implement evidenced based moralities
- Complete Casework Plan, weekly case notes, and monthly progress reports
- Attend Supervision/Staffing bi-weekly
- Facilitate and supervise family visitations
- Assess family functioning and parent skills
- Other duties as assigned
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in social work, psychology, marriage and family therapy, or related human service field required
- Previous experience preferred
- Valid Driver’s License in good standing and reliable transportation & auto insurance that complies with state law
- Successful clearance of local, state, and national background checks
