Position Summary
As a Psychiatric Mental Health Nurse Practitioner (PMHNP) at Blackbird Health, you’ll play a vital role in delivering high-quality virtual and in-person psychiatric evaluations, treatment planning, and medication management to children, adolescents, young adults (ages 2–26), and their caregivers. You’ll build meaningful relationships with patients and families, taking the time to understand their needs, support engagement in treatment, and educate them on care plans that foster long-term progress.
Working alongside an interdisciplinary team of psychotherapists, specialists, and clinical leaders, you’ll be empowered to make a meaningful impact in the lives of young patients and their families through compassionate, integrated, evidence-based care.
We’re seeking dedicated clinicians to join our team in Exton, PA. Multiple W-2 employment tracks are available:
Employment Options
W-2 Part-Time (20 hrs/week) | PMHNP
- Base Salary: $72,500 base + $100 per clinical hour beyond base caseload
- Hours: 20 hours per week (17 direct care hours)
- Core Hours: All core hours after 3pm ET weekdays and/or weekends
- Work Model: Hybrid (onsite clinical days with remote admin hours)
- Benefits: Medical, dental, vision, 401(k) with match, generous PTO + 11 company holidays
W-2 Full-Time (40 hrs/week) | PMHNP
- Base Salary: $135,000 – $145,000
- Hours: 40 hours per week (32 direct care hours)
- Core Hours: Minimum 20 core hours after 3pm ET weekdays and/or weekends
- Work Model: Hybrid (onsite clinical days with remote admin hours)
- Benefits: Medical, dental, vision, 401(k) with match, employer-paid life insurance, short-term and long-term disability, generous PTO + 11 company holidays

How you'll make an impact
- Provide Comprehensive Psychiatric Care: Conduct thorough psychiatric evaluations, assessments, and diagnoses for children, adolescents, and young adults. Develop personalized treatment plans and provide expert medication management.
- Build Meaningful Therapeutic Relationships: Spend the necessary time with patients and families to truly understand their experiences, educate them about treatment options, and provide ongoing support.
- Drive Patient Progress & Safety: Monitor progress against care goals, adjusting treatment plans as needed while intervening proactively when safety concerns arise.
- Collaborate for Integrated Care: Work closely with psychotherapists and specialists to create integrated treatment plans that address the whole child. Participate in weekly team and clinical meetings.
- Ensure Clinical Excellence & Compliance: Oversee diagnostic testing (including digital and lab results) and maintain thorough, HIPAA-compliant documentation.
Who you are
- Credentials: Master’s degree from an accredited nursing program with active PMHNP-BC certification.
- Licensure: Active Pennsylvania PMHNP/CRNP/APRN license, DEA registration, and State Prescriptive Authority.
- Clinical Experience: At least 1 year of independent psychiatric experience working under licensure with children and adolescent populations.
- Schedule Alignment: Available to work during Blackbird's core after-school/peak demand hours (after 3pm ET weekdays and/or weekends).
- Technical Proficiency: Experienced with EMR systems, Google Suite, and virtual telehealth platforms.
- Passion: Dedicated to family-centered, high-touch, collaborative care.
