Job Description:
Primary Children's Center for Safe and Healthy Families is an integrated medical and behavioral health clinic dedicated to serving children and adolescents who have experienced child maltreatment, trauma, and/or grief. Safe and Healthy Families provides specialized, evidence-based outpatient mental health treatment within a multidisciplinary pediatric healthcare setting.The Mental Health Therapist will provide assessment, diagnosis, and evidence-based therapeutic interventions for children, adolescents, and their caregivers. Therapists work collaboratively with physicians, psychologists, psychiatrists, social workers, and other healthcare professionals to support healing and resilience following experiences of abuse, neglect, trauma, loss, and other adverse childhood experiences.

- REQUIRED: Selected candidate will need to successfully complete the credentialing process, which may take up to 60 days, prior to starting.
Essential Functions
- Provide evidence-based outpatient mental health therapy to children and adolescents with histories of child maltreatment, trauma, and/or grief.
- Complete comprehensive behavioral health assessments, treatment planning, and ongoing clinical documentation.
- Deliver trauma-informed individual, family, and caregiver-focused interventions as clinically indicated.
- Collaborate with physicians, psychologists, psychiatrists, social workers, and other multidisciplinary team members to coordinate patient care.
- Utilize evidence-based treatment approaches to address trauma-related symptoms, behavioral concerns, emotional regulation, grief, and family functioning.
- Engage caregivers as active participants in treatment and support implementation of therapeutic recommendations.
- Monitor patient progress and modify treatment plans as clinically appropriate.
- Maintain timely and accurate documentation in accordance with organizational, regulatory, and payer requirements.
- Participate in clinical consultation, team meetings, and ongoing professional development activities.
- Promote a safe, inclusive, and culturally responsive therapeutic environment for patients and families.
Minimum Qualifications
Master’s degree in social work or related field. Education must be obtained from an accredited institution. Degree will be verified.
Current state licensure (as required by state) as LCSW, CMHC or LMFT.
Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Computer Skills, i.e., email, word processing.
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience with patients, families, and treatment teams.
- Dual licensure with current state licensure as LAC
- Montana Only: Current state licensure as a MHPP.
Physical Requirements
- Ongoing need for employee to see and read information, labels, assess patient needs, operate monitors, identify equipment and supplies.
- Frequent interactions with patient care providers, patients, and visitors that require employee to verbally communicate as well as hear and understand spoken information, alarms, needs, and issues quickly and accurately, particularly during emergency situations.
- Manual dexterity of hands and fingers to manipulate complex and delicate equipment with precision and accuracy. This includes frequent computer use and typing for documenting patient care, accessing needed information, medication preparation, etc.
- Expected to lift and utilize full range of movement to transfer patients. Will also bend to retrieve, lift, and carry supplies and equipment. Typically includes items of varying weights, up to and including heavy items.
- Need to walk and assist with transporting/ambulating patients and obtaining and distributing supplies and equipment. This includes pushing/pulling gurneys and portable equipment, including heavy items. Often required to navigate crowded and busy rooms (full of equipment, power cords on the floor, etc.)
- May be expected to stand in a stationary position for an extended period of time.
