Job Description
The Quality Executive – Safety Management System Leader will provide strategic, program development, and operational leadership of our GE Aerospace Safety Management System for GE Aerospace sites and suppliers. The person in this role will use FLIGHT DECK to lead horizontally with Flight Safety and Operations across the GE Aerospace network to standardize our SMS program and assure compliance with regulatory requirements.
Role & Responsibilities
Strategic
- Set direction, schedule, and strategy for SMS implementation across GE Aerospace sites and applicable suppliers.
- Develop framework for standardization across network including SMS tiered structure for escalation, shop role definitions, and cadence for SMS management.
- Establish operational strategy for deployment of pillars across GE Aerospace sites and applicable suppliers: Policy, Risk Management, Assurance, and Promotion
Organizational
- Direct leadership of functional SMS leaders supporting IMAT, Defense, and Services.
- Lead a cross functional team that includes flight safety, operations, and quality.
- Represent Commercial Engines and Service in enterprise SMS implementation for the GE Aerospace SMS through regular cadence driving implementation.
- Develop standard model for shop level SMS management and organization, and drive implementation.
Operational
- Action plan ownership using FLIGHT DECK standard to drive SMS implementation on schedule to regulatory requirements.
- Baseline current state of SMS readiness and develop gap / action plan to close with associated project management plan.
- Own operational cadence for SMS implementation and operation across GE Aerospace
- Lead and coach site level SMS leaders in partnership with operational quality leadership.
- Partner with Quality Systems organization to align on modifications to the Quality Management System to incorporate Safety Management System requirements
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor's Degree in Engineering, Operations, or related field
- Minimum 10 years of Quality, Engineering, Manufacturing, or related experience
- Experienced People Leader
ELIGIBILITY REQUIREMENTS:
- Ability to travel – 25%
