Description
The Electrical Technician is responsible for installing, maintaining, troubleshooting, and repairing electrical systems, wiring, components, and equipment. This position reads and interprets electrical schematics, blueprints, and wiring diagrams; performs electrical assembly, wiring, and terminations; and uses appropriate tools and equipment to complete work safely and accurately. The Electrical Technician works closely with electricians, leads, supervisors, Engineering, and other team members to ensure projects meet quality, safety, and operational requirements.
Core Responsibility:
- Install, maintain, troubleshoot, and repair electrical systems, wiring, components, and equipment.
- Read and interpret electrical schematics, blueprints, wiring diagrams, and technical drawings to determine project requirements.
- Perform electrical assembly, wiring, terminations, and related installation work in accordance with applicable specifications and instructions.
- Use hand tools, power tools, meters, and other electrical equipment safely and effectively.
- Identify electrical issues and assist with troubleshooting and corrective repairs.
- Inspect completed work for accuracy, quality, and compliance with project requirements.
- Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work area.
- Follow all Company safety procedures, electrical safety practices, and required PPE guidelines.
- Work collaboratively with electricians, leads, supervisors, Engineering, and other team members to complete assigned projects.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
Requirements:
- High school diploma or equivalent preferred; completion of an electrical training program or related technical coursework is a plus.
- Working knowledge of electrical principles, terminology, wiring methods, and electrical components.
- Ability to read and interpret electrical schematics, blueprints, wiring diagrams, and technical drawings.
- Experience using hand tools, power tools, electrical meters, and related equipment.
- Ability to troubleshoot basic electrical issues and identify potential wiring or installation problems.
- Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
- Ability to follow instructions, work independently when appropriate, and collaborate effectively as part of a team.
- Commitment to following safety procedures and maintaining a safe work environment.
- Physical ability to lift materials and equipment, stand for extended periods, bend, reach, and perform manual work as required by the position.
