Position Overview
The iMemories System Administrator will be part of a team that maintains an enterprise environment composed of 800 systems with over 2 petabytes of storage. We strive for uptime. We are looking for people with a passion for technology and a desire to learn new skills while improving their system administration talents.
The candidate must be comfortable dealing with everything from high-end enterprise hardware to a low-end desktop printer. Troubleshooting user desktop issues and answering user how-to questions is required. They will work closely with members of the technology and operations team to prioritize tasks to bring new systems, applications, and workstations online. Experience supporting a 24/7, multiple-shift operation is essential.
What you will do...
● Management of application software and workstations used by the operations organization.
● Ensure uptime of operations team; minimize work interruptions.
● Participate in hardware and system capacity planning and expansion.
● Participate in technical architecture and design discussions as a system and network expert.
● Help maintain all systems.
● Monitor and troubleshoot issues in workflow.
● Troubleshoot and problem solve any and all IT issues.
● Plan and prioritize upgrades, deployments, configuration changes. Coordinate with the technology group and operations on anything requiring outages that will cause work interruptions.
● Configure and deploy servers and workstations when needed.
● Perform hardware installs and cabling including upgrades and replacements.
● Setup, configure, and monitor O/S installs.
● Provide application and basic desktop support.
● Provide 24/7 support in an on-call rotation.
● Maintain and update tracking, monitoring, and management data and tools.
Who you are...
● Must have at least 7-10 years’ Linux Sys Admin experience with knowledge/skill in the following:
● Advanced experience in network configuration and management (Brocade knowledge a plus).
● Intermediate experience with Windows desktop administration (Windows Vista, Windows 7).
● Intermediate domain control and active directory experience.
● Intermediate experience with Mac OSX desktop support.
● Intermediate to advanced experience with Amazon Web Services (AWS); EC2, Route 53, S3, Glacier a plus.
● Advanced experience with Lightweight Directory Access Protocol (LDAP) a plus.
● Lustre and/or Gluster storage experience a plus.
● Postgres database maintenance experience a plus.
● Bachelor's degree in a technical field (Computer Science, Engineering, IT, etc.) is highly preferred
