JOB OVERVIEW

The Buyer will act as the single point of contact for packaging sourcing needs in the US. The role requires someone that is comfortable working across functional boundaries to influence and secure material requirements for existing and new business in a way that consistently adds value to the business.
The position manages packaging materials coordination for new business developments, supplier relationship management and industry analysis with a high level of collaboration with global Procurement colleagues.
Requirements
- Develop and execute strategic procurement initiatives aligned with business objectives, global procurement strategies, and organizational growth priorities.
- Assess industry and market trends to identify emerging opportunities, supplier capabilities, cost drivers, supply risks, and innovations that can create competitive advantage.
- Build, develop, and maintain strategic supplier relationships, including performance management, ongoing communication, feedback, and continuous improvement initiatives.
- Lead end-to-end sourcing, bidding, and negotiation processes in an ethical, transparent, and commercially responsible manner, ensuring alignment with business requirements and appropriate leadership approvals.
- Develop sourcing strategies that reduce costs, mitigate supply chain and commercial risks, expand the innovation pipeline, and contribute to top-line growth and customer value.
- Establish Procurement as a trusted strategic business partner by engaging early in business planning, product development, customer opportunities, and key organizational decisions.
- Develop and maintain strong cross-functional relationships with Procurement, New Product Development, R&D, Planning, Operations, Finance, Sales, and other key stakeholders.
- Represent Procurement in meetings, business reviews, customer engagements, and new business opportunities, providing strategic sourcing and commercial expertise.
- Lead Procurement activities supporting new projects and programs, including coordinating cross-functional inputs and developing commercially competitive proposals.
- Maintain accurate databases, project documentation, sourcing records, supplier information, and other related documentation to support effective decision-making and compliance.
- Facilitate communication and alignment among key stakeholders throughout the launch and startup of new projects, programs, and customer initiatives.
- Lead the negotiation, execution, and ongoing management of complex, high-value, and highly visible supplier contracts, ensuring appropriate commercial, legal, operational, and risk considerations are addressed.
- Establish and monitor performance metrics, supplier KPIs, and business objectives to measure effectiveness, identify opportunities, and drive continuous improvement.
- Drive organizational compliance with policies, procedures, sourcing strategies, approval requirements, and global governance standards.
- Promote ethical sourcing and responsible procurement practices throughout the supplier lifecycle, including transparency, appropriate documentation, risk management, and adherence to applicable company standards.
Nonessential Functions/Demands:
- Participate in industry conferences, supplier events, trade shows, and professional networking opportunities to maintain awareness of market developments and emerging technologies.
- Support benchmarking initiatives and research best practices in procurement, sourcing, supplier management, and supply chain strategy.
- Assist with special projects and strategic initiatives assigned by Procurement or executive leadership.
- Participate in internal committees, cross-functional working groups, and continuous improvement initiatives as requested.
- Support the development of Procurement presentations, reports, dashboards, and executive-level business reviews.
- Assist with the evaluation and implementation of Procurement technology, systems, analytics, and process improvements.
- Represent the organization at external supplier meetings and professional events when appropriate.
- Perform other related duties and responsibilities as assigned.
QUALIFICATION REQUIREMENTS:
- Bachelor's degree in Supply Chain Management, Procurement, Business Administration, Finance, Operations Management, Engineering, or a related field required.
- Master's degree in Business Administration, Supply Chain Management, or a related discipline preferred.
- Professional procurement or supply chain certification such as CPSM, C.P.M., CSCP, or equivalent is preferred.
- 5+ years of experience in CPG/FMCG, Food & Beverage, and/or Beauty industry.
- 5+ years of progressive experience in procurement, strategic sourcing, supply chain, purchasing, or a related function.
- Demonstrated experience leading strategic sourcing initiatives, supplier negotiations, contract management, and cost-reduction programs.
REPORTING RELATIONSHIP:
- Manager: Procurement Manager
PHYSICAL DEMANDS:
- Must be able to remain in the stationary position 70% of the time.
- The person in this position may need to move about inside the office to access office machinery, file cabinets, etc.
Work Environment & Travel Requirements
- Position requires regular travel between Truvant Health and Beauty main facility and warehouse facility to support quality, compliance, and operational activities.
- Domestic Travel up to 25%
- Must possess a valid driver's license and maintain reliable transportation.
