Description

Adjunct curriculum faculty will guide and direct the learning experiences of students through knowledge, skills, and motivation. Members of the faculty agree to be accessible to students, other faculty, staff, and to those making inquiries to the College.

  • Prepare and teach assigned courses.
  • Prepare, review, and update course outlines on an annual basis, ensuring that course content is up-to-date, relevant, accurate, and consistent with state and national accreditation standards.
  • Maintain records for each course taught.
  • Teach courses in assigned method(s).
  • Keep up to date on discipline specific technology and instructional technologies.
  • Teach face-to-face seated or hybrid sections at Sandhoke Early College, Hoke High School, and/or North Moore High School. Instruction schedules could include up to four sections.
  • Submit all college reports in a timely fashion.
  • Assist in student retention.
  • Establish and maintain a positive working relationship with students, faculty, and staff.
  • Assist in the selection and ordering of supplies, equipment, textbooks, and visual aids as appropriate.
  • Keep regular posted office hours as approved by the department head.
  • Attend departmental and college meetings as scheduled.
  • Develop professional relationships and show courtesy and respect while working with students; this includes respecting the confidentiality of information shared while interacting.
  • Respond to emails from students, colleagues, Department Chairs, Deans, VPs, and President in a timely and professional fashion.

  • Must hold a Master's degree in the discipline of DRAMA from an accredited institution, or a Master's degree with 18 graduate hours in the discipline.

Preferred education and experience:

  • The ability to teach in various modalities, including Online, Traditional, Blended, and Hybrid, as well as teaching dual enrolled high school students.

Supplemental Information

Please upload copies of transcripts/credentials with your application. Salary to be commensurate with experience and state salary schedules. Selection is contingent on final budget approval.

Department Head/Program Coordinator reviews applicant files monthly for future teaching assignments.

Typical Classroom environment Teaching formats include Online, Traditional, Blended, and Hybrid. Potential multiple locations include SCC’s Pinehurst Campus and Hoke Center, Moore County High School, and other locations deemed appropriate

Travel required:

Travel may be required to the Sandhills Community College Hoke Center, Moore County High Schools, and other locations based on an individual’s class schedule and availability.
