Production Supervisor – 1st Shift

Salary: $75,000–$90,000 annually, depending on experience
Schedule: Full-Time | 1st Shift

About the Role

We are seeking an experienced Production Supervisor to lead daily manufacturing operations in a fast-paced production environment. This individual will supervise 30–80 hourly team members and be responsible for staffing, production throughput, yield, quality, and overall shift performance.

The ideal candidate is a hands-on leader who understands manufacturing operations, can effectively manage a large hourly workforce, and is committed to improving productivity, maintaining quality standards, and developing a strong production team.

Key Responsibilities

• Lead daily production operations, including assigning and balancing labor, monitoring line speeds, minimizing downtime, and ensuring production schedules are met.

• Oversee production startups, changeovers, allergen transitions, and shutdowns.

• Ensure temperatures, freezer exit temperatures, and product weights are monitored, documented, and maintained within specifications.

• Maintain proper separation between raw and ready-to-eat (RTE) production areas and escalate any out-of-specification products to Quality Assurance.

• Supervise, coach, train, and cross-train a team of 30–80 hourly employees to improve productivity and operational performance.

• Address employee performance concerns and partner with Human Resources when necessary.

• Collaborate with maintenance, quality, sanitation, and shipping departments to maintain efficient production operations.

• Identify opportunities for continuous improvement, including reducing downtime, product giveaway, waste, and changeover times.

• Complete production reports, shift documentation, and performance updates for plant leadership.

• Promote a safe, clean, and organized work environment while ensuring compliance with company policies and food safety standards.

Qualifications

• Previous production or manufacturing experience strongly preferred.

• Minimum of 1 year of supervisory experience in a manufacturing environment, ideally overseeing a large hourly workforce.

• Working knowledge of packaging operations and production processes.

• Strong leadership skills with the ability to motivate, develop, and hold team members accountable.

• Excellent communication, organizational, and problem-solving abilities.

• Ability to work effectively with cross-functional teams in a fast-paced manufacturing environment.

• Proficiency with Microsoft Office and production reporting systems.

• High school diploma or GED required.

• Bilingual English/Spanish is a plus.

Schedule & Physical Requirements

• 1st Shift position.

• Flexibility to work overtime, weekends, and holidays as production needs require.

• Ability to walk and stand on the production floor for extended periods.

• Ability to climb stairs, ladders, and platforms.

• Ability to lift up to 25 pounds.

Compensation

Base Salary: $75,000–$90,000 annually, depending on experience and qualifications.
