Job Duties:

The Educational Administration and Supervision program is housed in the Department of Educational Psychology and Leadership. The program prepares individuals for many careers in school, district, network, and other organizational leadership and administration through a master’s program and DPI-approved administrative licensure programs. Specializations lead to single or dual licensure as Principal (5051), Director of Instruction (5010), and/or Director of Special Education and Pupil Services (5080). 


We are hiring a Core Teaching Faculty position to help lead the Educational Administration and Supervision program. This is a 9-month position with potential for summer teaching as available. The successful candidate will (1) teach graduate level courses on education administration, (2) provide administrative service for the program, and 3) serve as a core faculty member and attend department and program-related functions (e.g., program faculty meetings, etc.). We are particularly interested in candidates with experience in K-12 educational administration, and experience (or interest) in college-level instruction. Key Job Responsibilities:

  • Program coordination, including managing student recruitment, admissions processes, retention, practica and capstone activities, and degree and licensure approval for three licensure programs (#5010, #5051, #5080).  
  • Teaching courses in the area of Educational Administration and developing curricular innovations as needed. 
  • Serve as the administrative licensure program area liaison with the Wisconsin Department of Public Instruction (DPI), and the UWM School of Education Council for Professional Education (CPE). 
  • Coordinate with SOE personnel on maintaining programmatic records and develop required reports for the University and the Wisconsin Department of Public Instruction. 
  • Engagement in the Department of Educational Psychology & Leadership and the School of Education.

Compensation:

The target hiring salary is $60,000-$72,000/annually on an academic, 9-month basis.  Final salary offer will be contingent upon degree and the knowledge, skills, and abilities demonstrated throughout the selection process. 

Required Qualifications:

  • Hold an MS, MA, or MSED or higher degree in Educational Administration, Administrative Leadership, or a closely-related field from an accredited higher education institution by the time of application.  
  • Ability to teach college-level courses in the field of educational administration, including familiarity with high impact practices for teaching online courses. 
  • Prior K-12 teaching and/or administrative experience in K-12 settings.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Experience in program administration and coordination, preferably in an educational administration (K-12) setting.
  • Familiarity with DPI (Department of Public Instruction) requirements for administrative licenses such as principal, director of instruction, and director of special education and pupil services in the state of Wisconsin
  • Hold an Ed.D. or Ph.D. in Educational Administration, Administrative Leadership, or a closely-related field from an accredited higher education institution by the time of application. 
  • Experience working with diverse student populations and demonstrated commitment to equity and inclusion through teaching, research, and/or service.
