  • Employment Type: Full-Time
  • FLSA Status: Exempt
  • Department: Managed Services
  • Work Location: Hybrid — must reside within a practical commuting distance of Los Angeles, California, and work 8:00 a.m.–5:00 p.m. Pacific Time. This role combines remote work with regular onsite support at client locations in and around Los Angeles and requires travel between sites as needed, including with limited notice for installations, implementations, maintenance, or other business needs.

Position Summary

The Network Administrator provides dedicated day-to-day network administration and support for a client’s multi-site environment, helping keep critical infrastructure reliable, secure, and available. This role combines proactive monitoring and maintenance with responsive troubleshooting, project support, vendor coordination, and clear client communication while partnering with Network Engineering on complex issues and escalations.

Key Responsibilities

  • Provide day-to-day administration, monitoring, maintenance, and support for the client’s multi-site network environment, including WAN, LAN, wireless, firewall, switching, and VoIP technologies.
  • Manage assigned network alerts, incidents, service requests, maintenance activities, and project tasks.
  • Triage incidents, analyze network performance and diagnostic information, identify recurring risks or issues, and escalate complex matters to Network Engineering when appropriate.
  • Collaborate with the service desk, engineering teams, vendors, carriers, and other technical partners to resolve issues and meet client needs.
  • Communicate outages, risks, planned changes, and service-impacting conditions clearly to appropriate stakeholders.
  • Support the onboarding, transition, implementation, and ongoing maintenance of the client’s sites, including onsite troubleshooting, installations, deployments, and other network activities.
  • Follow established change-management, security, documentation, and client-approval requirements when making network changes.
  • Document network configurations, changes, troubleshooting activities, procedures, and client environment information.
  • Create and improve network processes that promote automation, consistency, service improvement, and rapid restoration of service.
  • Participate in team meetings, operational reviews, planning activities, client discussions, and technical initiatives while maintaining current knowledge of networking technologies, security risks, and industry best practices.

Required Qualifications

  • Associate’s or Bachelor’s degree in Information Technology or a related field, or equivalent relevant work experience that includes network administration.
  • At least two years of network administration experience.
  • Experience or formal training in LAN, WAN, wireless, and VoIP technologies and architecture, including network operating systems, network management platforms, and application-layer protocols.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to work effectively with both business and technical audiences.
  • Strong time and task management skills, including the ability to manage competing priorities.
  • Ability to work independently with minimal supervision and collaborate effectively with clients, peers, managers, and other stakeholders.
  • Professionalism, accountability, sound judgment, and confidence in a client-facing environment.
  • Self-directed approach with the ability to learn quickly and take ownership of assigned work.
  • Commitment to staying current on networking technologies, infrastructure best practices, and emerging security risks.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Cisco Certified Network Associate (CCNA) or another advanced networking certification.
  • Experience in healthcare, managed services, or an information technology services organization.

What Success Looks Like

A high-performing Network Administrator keeps the client’s multi-site network stable and responsive through proactive monitoring, disciplined maintenance, effective troubleshooting, and timely escalation. Success is demonstrated through clear communication, accurate documentation, dependable ownership of assigned work, and trusted partnerships with client stakeholders and internal technical teams that improve service quality and minimize disruption.
