Overview

Position Summary:The primary job function is to perform most advanced accounting functions involving the practical application of established accounting standards, theories, principles, and practices.

State specific pay scales for this role are as follows:$98,569 to $120,473 (NJ, NY, WA, HI, AK, MD, CT, RI, MA)

$89,608 to $109,520 (NV, OR, AZ, CO, WY, TX, ND, MN, MO, IL, WI, FL, GA, MI, OH, VA, PA, DE, VT, NH, ME) 

$80,647 to $98,569 (UT, ID, MT, NM, SD, NE, KS, OK, IA, AR, LA, MS, AL, TN, KY, IN, SC, NC, WV) 

 

In CA: Typical hiring range is $98,569 to $120,473

 

The expected base salary for this position will vary depending on a number of factors, including relevant experience, skills and location.

Responsibilities

Essential Job Functions:

• Responsible for the preparation, analysis and evaluation of subsidiary general ledgers.
• Prepares and maintains highly complex operating and financial reports.
• Ensures the preparation of monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements are completed in accordance with generally accepted accounting principles (GAAP) and statutory accounting principles (SAP) including footnote disclosure.
• Performs advanced financial analyses and special projects as required by financial management. 
• May interface and maintain relationships with outside auditors and public accounting firms.

Qualifications

Education:

• Bachelor’s degree with emphasis/major in accounting program or equivalent education
• CPA or MBA is preferred

Experience:

• At least 5 years of experience in accounting, including 2 years of public accounting, preferably in a Big Four firm. 
• Insurance accounting experience is a plus

Pay Range

USD $76,829.00 - USD $142,213.00 /Yr.
