Job Description:
As an Associate Business Solution Developer supporting the Tech Ops Business Applications Solutions (TOBAS) Team, you'll help deliver and support technology solutions that enable Technical Operations across Southwest. You'll contribute to application configuration, testing, troubleshooting, deployment, documentation, and data validation while gaining experience across legacy and modern platforms. As the Team evolves from supporting individual applications to managing products end-to-end, you'll have the opportunity to grow your technical expertise while supporting modernization efforts and scalable solutions that drive Technical Operations forward.

Responsibilities
Assist with the configuration, testing, troubleshooting, and support of enterprise business applications under the guidance of senior developers or solution leads.
Support ongoing operations by helping resolve incidents, tracking defects, validating fixes, and monitoring application health and usability.
Contribute to application enhancements and new implementations by gathering basic requirements, documenting business needs, and assisting with solution build and testing activities.
Participate in the end-to-end application lifecycle, including intake support, development, testing, deployment preparation, sustainment, and retirement-related tasks.
Support both legacy and modern platforms, including Quickbase, Power Platform, Alteryx, Tableau, and other approved business application technologies.
Assist with data preparation, validation, reporting, and basic analysis to support business operations and decision-making.
Maintain technical documentation, job aids, support materials, and process artifacts to improve operational consistency and knowledge sharing.
Participate in agile team routines such as sprint planning, backlog refinement, standups, and retrospectives.
Collaborate with business users, Technology teams, data partners, and platform teams to support delivery of reliable, secure, and scalable solutions.

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities
Foundational understanding of business applications, data structures, system support, and software delivery concepts.
Understanding of SaaS, low-code, or business application platforms such as Quickbase, Microsoft Power Platform, Salesforce, or similar tools.
Basic familiarity with reporting, analytics, or data tools such as Excel, Power BI, Tableau, Alteryx, or similar technologies.
General awareness of application governance, secure development, operational support, and documentation expectations in an enterprise environment.
Ability to communicate clearly with technical and non-technical stakeholders.
Strong organizational skills, attention to detail, and follow-through on assigned work.
Willingness to learn new technologies, development practices, and business processes.
Ability to work effectively in a collaborative, team-oriented environment and seek guidance when appropriate.
Commitment to quality, reliability, governance, security, and responsible data usage.
Education
- Required: High School Diploma or GED
Experience
- Entry level experience, developing skills and knowledge in:
- Application support, development, analytics, business technology, or information systems
Licensing/Certification
- Must be able to obtain a SIDA (Secured Identification Display Area) badge and meet all local airport requirements.
Physical Abilities
- Ability to perform work duties from limited space work station/desk/office area for extended periods of time.
- Ability to communicate and interact with others in the English language to meet the demands of the job.
- Ability to use a computer and other office productivity tools with sufficient speed and accuracy to meet the demands of the job.
Other Qualifications
- Must maintain a well-groomed appearance per Company appearance standards as described in established guidelines.
- Must be a U.S. citizen or have authorization to work in the United States as defined by the Immigration Reform Act of 1986.
- Must be at least 18 years of age.
- Must be able to comply with Company attendance standards as described in established guidelines.
Pay & Benefits:
Competitive market salary from $89,450 per year to $99,400 per year* depending on qualifications and experience. For eligible Leadership and individual contributor roles, additional bonus opportunities are available and awarded at the discretion of the Company.
