Description
Job Title: Registered Nurse (RN) – Inpatient Rehabilitation Unit.
Job Summary: We are seeking an experienced Inpatient Rehabilitation Registered Nurse (RN) to deliver comprehensive care to acutely ill patients across the lifespan. In this role, you will use advanced clinical reasoning and assessment skills to evaluate patients with complex or unstable medical conditions, collaborate with multidisciplinary rehab teams, execute evidence-based plans of care, and assist in establishing safe discharge strategies.
Key Responsibilities:
- Patient Assessment & Care Planning: Conduct thorough physiological, psychosocial, and spiritual assessments to develop, implement, and adjust individualized plans of care for acute rehab patients.
- Clinical Nursing Interventions: Monitor, detect, and intervene to prevent physiological complications, manage complex recovery protocols, and promote optimal patient functionality.
- Interdisciplinary Collaboration: Communicate effectively with physicians, physical/occupational therapists, speech language pathologists, and case managers using SBAR and structured care team hand-offs.
- Patient & Family Advocacy: Educate patients and families on rehabilitation milestones, self-care management, and post-discharge recovery goals.
- Unit Operations & Safety: Utilize time management and clinical expertise to maintain patient safety, adhere to institutional practice standards, and support team productivity.
Qualifications & Requirements:
- Clinical Experience: Minimum 2+ years of recent Acute Inpatient Rehabilitation or Acute Care nursing experience [Required].
- Licensure: Active Registered Nurse (RN) License [Required].
- Certifications: Active Basic Life Support (BLS) Certification through the American Heart Association (AHA) [Required].
- Core Competencies: Strong critical thinking, acute clinical assessment skills, knowledge of interdisciplinary rehabilitation frameworks, and excellent patient communication.
