Senior Director, AI and Data & Integration Platforms

To realize this opportunity, we need a visionary leader who can simultaneously architect and enable enterprise AI capabilities, modernize and enhance our data platforms, and transform our legacy integration infrastructure into a nimble, scalable foundation.

As Senior Director, AI and Data & Integration Platforms, you will own the strategy and end-to-end delivery across all three domains. You'll be responsible for building the intelligent, data-driven foundation that enables RBC Insurance to unlock AI-driven intelligence to enhance customer experiences, and fundamentally transform our business model. What will you do?  

 

• Own enterprise AI strategy and delivery: Develop and execute the long-term vision for AI capabilities across RBC Insurance IT and business operations. Identify frontier, game-changing AI use cases that drive competitive advantage, serve as the expert for emerging AI technologies, and position RBC Insurance as an AI-first organization.
• Architect and modernize data platforms: Lead the strategic transformation of our global data foundation, stabilizing and enhancing both on-premises and cloud data platforms. Build a scalable, secure, resilient data architecture that serves as the foundation for AI, analytics, and business intelligence. Ensure data governance, quality, and accessibility across the enterprise while optimizing cost and performance.
• Transform legacy integration platforms: Champion the modernization of our integration infrastructure, moving from legacy systems to API-first, event-driven architectures. Design integration platforms that enable seamless data flow, real-time decision-making, and agile business capability delivery.
• Drive strategy into delivery at scale: Translate strategic vision into executable roadmaps and quarterly milestones. Lead end-to-end execution of transformational initiatives spanning AI implementation, data platform migration, and integration modernization. Establish accountability for delivery excellence, quality, and measurable business outcomes.
• Build and lead high-performing teams: Provide strategic leadership to data architects, AI engineers, integration specialists, and technical teams. Foster a high-performance culture of innovation, collaboration, and continuous learning. Coach technical leaders on strategic thinking, delivery excellence, and career development. Build a team of thought leaders who stay at the forefront of AI, data, and integration technologies.
• Build strategic partnerships and stakeholder alignment: Serve as the trusted delivery partner to business leaders, IT executives, and technology teams. Cultivate strong relationships across Technology, Digital Channels, Business Operations, and Product teams. Align organizational priorities, remove obstacles, and drive speed to impact through collaborative leadership..
• Champion continuous learning: Cultivate a team of technical thought leaders who stay at the forefront of industry trends, emerging technologies, and digital platform best practices, ensuring RBC Insurance maintains competitive advantage and drives innovation across digital channels.

 

What do you need to succeed?

Must Have

• 10+ years of progressive leadership in AI, data, and/or technology transformation, with 5+ years leading technical teams delivering enterprise-scale IT solutions. Demonstrated track record of executing transformational business strategy and delivering measurable organizational impact.
• Deep expertise in artificial intelligence and machine learning: Proven experience architecting, implementing, and scaling AI solutions in production environments. Strong understanding of GenAI and Agentic AI applications across business operations, including predictive analytics, automation, and intelligent decision-making. Ability to translate AI capabilities into business value and organizational efficiencies.
• Expert-level data platform leadership: Extensive experience designing, building, and modernizing enterprise data platforms (data lakes, data warehouses, cloud platforms). Proficiency with both legacy and modern data technologies. Strong foundation in data governance, quality, integration, and analytics.
• Integration platform and modernization expertise: Experience leading the transformation of legacy integration infrastructure to modern architectures. Deep understanding of API-first design, event-driven systems, and hybrid technology ecosystems
• Enterprise delivery and execution excellence: Demonstrated ability to lead complex, multi-year transformational programs at enterprise scale within financial institutions or regulated industries. Strong foundation in software development lifecycle, budgeting, resource allocation, and delivery governance.
• Executive leadership and stakeholder influence: Exceptional ability to lead diverse technical teams and influence senior stakeholders through data-driven decision-making, compelling communication, and strategic facilitation. Strong executive presence and ability to operate at the C-level.

 

Nice to Have  

• Prior experience in financial services or regulated industries, with deep understanding of compliance, risk management, and enterprise governance frameworks.
• Hands-on experience with specific AI/ML platforms (e.g., cloud AI services, Agentic AI, LLMs, GenAI, MCP, etc), modern data platforms (e.g., Databricks, Snowflake), and integration technologies (e.g. Apache Kafka, APIGee, event streaming, etc).
• Experience in leading AI adoption and scaling development practices. Established and/or Chaired AI Centers of Excellence that drove organizational AI adoption.
• Experience leading successful data modernization programs on multi-platform hybrid environments in large enterprises.
