Job Description
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES / ACCOUNTABILITIES
Loans Operations
- Process or approve loan account setup for new borrowing customers in the Multi-Currency Loans System (MCL) based on approved credit documentation and facility agreements.
- Process or approve loan disbursements, remittances, repayments, redemptions, rollovers, restructuring transactions and other loan instructions within prescribed turnaround times.
- Perform and approve maintenance activities for loan accounts, facilities and customer information.
- Prepare or process or approve payment instructions, including SWIFT messages and remittances through relevant banking systems.
- Process or approve accounting and financial entries relating to loans, payments, deposits, fees, interest and general ledger transactions.
- Perform limit implementation and maintenance in the Loans & Limit Exposure System (LES) and related systems.
- Conduct daily reconciliations and investigate outstanding items and discrepancies.
- Ensure all transactions are processed in accordance with approved procedures, regulatory requirements and bank policies.
- Escalate exceptions, operational issues and discrepancies to Team Leaders or approvers promptly.
- Maintain high standards of accuracy, productivity and service quality.
Operational Support
- Support the preparation of regular and ad-hoc operational reports and management information.
- Maintain proper records, filing and archival of loan documents and operational records.
- Support system testing, user acceptance testing and implementation activities when required. Assist in the updating of operational procedures, workflow documents and process manuals.
- Participate in process improvement and automation initiatives to enhance operational efficiency and controls. Collaborate with internal stakeholders to resolve operational issues and support business requirements.
Risk and Control
- Adhere to MAS regulations, internal policies, standard operating procedures and control requirements.
- Ensure compliance with maker-checker controls and operational risk management standards.
- Identify and escalate potential control issues, operational risk events and processing errors.
- Support audit, compliance and regulatory reviews by providing required information and documentation.
KEY REQUIREMENTS
- Degree Holder with 5 years of corporate loans operations experience.
- Proficient in Microsoft Office suite of applications especially Excel and Word.
- Comfortable in data handling and analysis with Excel
- Strong attention to detail and a high level of accuracy.
- Ability to multi-task and work under pressure to meet strict payment related cutoff times.
- Strong oral and written communication & interpersonal skills with the ability to work independently with key stakeholders to resolve issues.
