JOB SUMMARY
Crystal Mountain is seeking energetic, dependable, and guest-focused individuals to join our Rental Team. As a Rental Cashier, you will be one of the first and last points of contact for our guests, creating a welcoming and efficient rental experience from check-in through equipment return.
The ideal candidate is friendly, organized, and thrives in a fast-paced environment. Rental Cashiers assist guests throughout the rental process by accurately processing transactions, managing reservations, recommending rental products and accessories, and providing exceptional customer service. Success in this role requires strong communication skills, attention to detail, the ability to multitask, and a commitment to creating memorable guest experiences.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES
Welcome guests and provide exceptional customer service throughout the rental experience.
Accurately process rental transactions, retail purchases, reservations, and payments using the point-of-sale (POS) system.
Assist guests in selecting the appropriate rental equipment based on age, ability level, terrain preference, and current conditions.
Recommend upgrades and additional products, including High Performance and Demo equipment, helmets, outerwear, accessories, and other rental add-ons.
Answer guest questions regarding rental equipment, pricing, policies, resort services, and mountain information.
Verify guest information and ensure rental agreements and waivers are completed accurately.
Maintain cash drawer accountability and accurately reconcile transactions.
Assist with online reservations, modifications, cancellations, and guest inquiries.
Work collaboratively with technicians and rental staff to ensure equipment is prepared and delivered efficiently.
Maintain a clean, organized, and professional work environment, including cashier stations, guest waiting areas, and merchandise displays.
Restock retail merchandise, rental forms, and operational supplies as needed.
Help manage guest flow during peak business periods while maintaining a positive attitude.
Resolve routine guest concerns professionally and escalate more complex issues to supervisors when appropriate.
Follow all company policies regarding cash handling, safety, security, and guest confidentiality.
Support other Rental and Retail operations as business needs require.
Perform other duties as assigned.
KNOWLEDGE, SKILL AND ABILITY REQUIREMENTS
Ability to learn and effectively use point-of-sale (POS) systems, rental software, and other computer programs.
Basic cash handling and mathematical skills.
Strong customer service and interpersonal communication skills.
Ability to communicate clearly and professionally with guests, coworkers, and supervisors.
Ability to learn and retain knowledge of rental equipment, retail products, services, pricing, and promotions.
Basic mechanical aptitude and willingness to learn the operation and function of ski and snowboard equipment.
Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple tasks in a fast-paced environment.
Ability to work independently while contributing to a collaborative team environment.
Excellent attention to detail and accuracy when processing transactions and reservations.
Ability to remain calm, positive, and professional during busy periods and while resolving guest concerns.
Ability to stand and walk for extended periods throughout the workday.
Ability to lift and carry up to 30 pounds and perform repetitive bending, reaching, and lifting.
Ability to work a flexible schedule, including weekends, holidays, evenings, and peak vacation periods.
Willingness to work in a winter resort environment and adapt to changing business needs.
Previous skiing or snowboarding knowledge is preferred but not required.
PHYSICAL DEMANDS AND WORKING CONDITIONS
This position requires us to work evenings, weekends and holidays while in operation.
Manual dexterity to operate a computer and other common office equipment on a constant basis.
Ability to work for extended periods of time standing, reaching, and speaking on a constant basis.
Math, cash register and currency skills
Positive attitude with strong guest services and communication skills a must
