  • Monitor and control facility KPIs (safety, environmental, cost, availability, response time, customer satisfaction) and report performance to leadership.

  • Ensure strict compliance with GM safety standards, environmental regulations, and local legal requirements in all facility activities.

  • Coordinate with production, maintenance, EHS, security, and other support functions to address facility-related issues and priorities.

  • Manage contractors and service providers to meet GM standards and contract requirements.

  • Lead daily reviews / tier meetings, communicate priorities, and ensure clear direction and feedback to salaried and hourly employees.

  • Escalate critical risks related to facility systems (e.g., power, water, compressed air, HVAC, fire systems) and coordinate rapid response to protect people, assets, and production.

  • Support development, execution, and testing of business continuity and emergency response plans for facility systems.

  • Identify and implement improvements in facility operations to reduce breakdowns, enhance service level, and optimize operating costs.

  • Ensure accurate and timely completion of work orders, checklists, inspections, and statutory documentation.

  • Support GMS and Operational Excellence (OPEX) activities within Facilities, including basic lean tools, 5S, visual management, and standardization.

  • Participate in and sometimes lead structured problem-solving for recurring facility issues using GM-standard methods.

  • Coach team members on safe work practices, facility procedures, and expected GMS behaviors.

  • Experience with preventive and corrective maintenance planning, execution, and documentation.

  • Hands-on experience with Computerized Maintenance Management Systems (CMMS) for work orders, planning, and spare parts.
