JAS is an international, non-asset-based supply chain services and solutions company. Our services include air and ocean freight forwarding, contract logistics, customs brokerage, distribution, inbound logistics, truckload brokerage and other supply chain management services, including consulting, the coordination of purchase orders and customized management services.
SUMMARY:The Project Manager is responsible for overseeing project logistics operations, managing subcontractor and vendor relationships, and driving business growth across the assigned market. This role ensures operational excellence, regulatory and QHSSE compliance, financial performance, and high levels of client satisfaction while identifying and securing new business opportunities. The position works closely with clients, internal teams, carriers, and subcontractors to successfully manage complex project shipments, develop strategic relationships, and continuously improve service delivery and profitability.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:
Sub-Contractors / Vendors
To identify potential sub-contractor / vendor to support our capabilities.
To conduct due diligence to all sub-contractor / vendor to ensure compliance.
To establish and maintaining good relationship with sub-contractor / vendor for better negotiation and quality of work.
To ensure JAS procedures and guidelines are followed at all times including QHSSE, Transport Engineering, Ethical / Process Compliance.
Client service levels, maintaining first in class operational and administrative procedures at all times ensuring high levels of client satisfaction
Recruitment of staff, personal development and welfare ensuring long term staff retention
Managing HR & disciplinary matters in conjunction with JAS HR Departments
If instructed to do so sourcing and implementing new JP facilities throughout SEA
Business Development
Carry out aggressive and extensive business development with first, second and third tier clients within your Country, growing JP revenue and GP. Travelling is needed as and when it requires. Working closely with Business Development Manager – S.E. Asia.
To attend regular face to face meeting with Clients maintaining & growing relationship.
To upload Wintouch Report after every meeting with Clients.
To share sales lead with JAS’s oversea offices to widen our network.
Contractual & Financial Management of Project Business:
Managing / monitoring financial forecasts, monitoring and managing account receivables and payables.
KPI & Milestone management, work closely with Operation to ensure laid down Cargowise processes are followed by all staff.
Implementing and amending specific localized documents & procedures such as Standard Operating Procedures as required.
Monitoring and reporting on: Ethical Conduct & Due Diligence, Transport Engineering requirements, Quality, Health and Safety, Environment including developing any required localized procedures
Negotiating with Carriers to obtain the best possible buying rates and favorable contractual terms on behalf of JP SEA.
Risk Management, Insurance Claim management.
Country responses to pre-qualification requests, RFI, RFQ for clients
Liaison with JAS financial on cash flow forecasts, AR&AP and day to day HR business.
Management of JP Sub-Contractors:
Ethical Conduct & Due Diligence (ECDD), Quality, Health and Safety, Environment procedures.
Financial (including timely and accurate billing in liaison with Ops Vietnam)
Service levels.
Processing of new Sub-Contractors through the JAS Vendor Approval Process.
Ensuring Sub-Contractors maintain validity of ECDD training and insurances and maintaining such records in conjunction with JAS ATL Administrative Supervisor.
Identify new suitable Sub-Contractors.
Overall responsibility for all day-to-day operational aspects of the business.
Monitoring high profile “HOTSHOT” shipment progress in conjunction with Ops team.
Chartering aircraft and vessels by following relevant SOPs.
Supervise subsequent loading and discharging operations in support of ops as/when required and raise subsequent client reports.
Liaison with JP transport engineering for out-of-gauge heavy lift shipments.
Constantly seek out and develop ways to improve the operational service received by JP clients, whilst increasing profit margins on JP business.
QUALIFICATIONS:
Excellent organizational skills
Excellent written and verbal skills
Excellent presentation and interpersonal skills
Thorough knowledge of transportation industry, logistics and freight forwarding
Thorough knowledge of related business development & sales functions
Thorough knowledge of successful project management
Strong computer skills including Microsoft Office suite
Detail oriented, able to multitask and meet deadlines
Self-motivated, able to work in a team and independently
Must have valid driver’s license and safe driving record
EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE:
Bachelor’s degree/ Diploma or equivalent preferred
At least 5 years or more successful projects & business development experience in Projects, Freight forwarding, Logistics and/or the Transportation industry
