CDL-A Semi-Local Tire Driver – Good Pay | Home Most Weeks
Earn $110,000 average annual gross pay delivering tires throughout the Pacific Northwest and Canada. Enjoy strong CPM and stop-pay opportunities, assigned equipment, and approximately two nights out per week.
Pay Details
- Average Weekly Pay: $2,150
- Local loads: $0.70 CPM, up to $0.78 CPM with tenure
- Regional loads: $0.66 CPM, up to $0.74 CPM with tenure
- Canadian loads: $0.78 CPM, up to $0.86 CPM with tenure
- Local: $25 drop/hook | $30 live stop
- Regional: $35 drop/hook | $40 live stop
- Canada: $45 drop/hook | $50 live stop
- $60 each time crossing the border
Job Details
- Deliver tires in dry van trailers to warehouses and retail locations
- Routes throughout OR, WA, ID, MT, and Canada
- Canadian routes include Calgary, Saskatoon, Regina, Edmonton, Acheson, and British Columbia
- Driver unloads by unstacking, rolling, and throwing tires at most U.S. stops
- Average approximately 400 tires per day, with 50–100 tires per stop
- Tire weights range from 30–200+ lbs., averaging approximately 50 lbs.
- Canadian customers unload approximately 75% of loads; driver assists with the remaining 25%
- Count and secure freight after unloading
- Pick up returns and backhauls, including loading returns
- Drop/hook stops are minimal
Shift Details
- Work 5 days with 2 consecutive days off
- Floater schedule; flexibility to work any 5 days required
- Average start around 6:00 AM
- Flexible start times may be required
- 12–14 hour shifts
- Approximately 2 nights out per week
- 6th day available if desired
Job Requirements
- Valid Class A CDL
- Minimum 3 months of truck driving experience
- Clean driving record
- Valid DOT Medical Card
- Must be eligible to enter Canada
- Passport allowing Canadian entry required within 90 days; cost reimbursed
- Ability to repeatedly handle tires weighing 30–200+ lbs.
- Willingness to chain as weather requires
- Strong customer service skills
- No SAP drivers
