Plant 81 | Automation EngineerPosition Overview
Shaw Industries is searching for an Automation Controls Engineer to support and assist in the development and oversight of locally deployed process control solutions as part of broader process engineering responsibilities. The engineer will contribute to automation initiatives by identifying improvement opportunities through process awareness, data analysis, and collaboration with automation teams.

Responsibilities:
As a member of the leadership team this position is responsible for managing electrical and automation projects
Setting and maintaining electrical and automation standards
Troubleshooting and supporting plant equipment and training other associates in proper and safe electrical and automation practices.
Candidates must be capable of learning the various manufacturing processes within the plant to facilitate process improvement through automation.
Position Requirements:
1+ year experience with design, installation, and troubleshooting of:
PLCs (Allen-Bradley, Siemens)
HMI/SCADA (preferably Ignition)
PC hardware/software in industrial environments
Bachelor's degree or Associate's degree with 5+ years hands-on controls/automation experience
Excellent written and oral communication skills
Project management experience
Ability to work in a manufacturing environment
Ability to work some weekends, holidays and off shift hours
Knowledge/Skills:
Must be able to analyze equipment faults and failures identifying the root causes
Must be able to implement solutions to resolve equipment faults/failures, preventing reoccurrence
Must have software development capabilities in various program languages (e.g., Python Java, C++)
Must be able to Maintain install and troubleshoot electrical systems. Ensure compliance with codes and safety standards
