We Are Looking to Add a Key Member to Our Technology Group!
As Principal Engineering Leader, you will lead a high-performing team of Platform Administrators to deliver secure, scalable, and innovative solutions across GreatAmerica’s key enterprise platforms. You’ll combine deep technical expertise with strategic leadership to drive platform excellence, team growth, and business impact.
As a Principal Engineering Leader, you will:
Team Leadership
Lead, mentor, and grow a team of Platform Administrators, fostering a culture of innovation, collaboration, and continuous learning.
Conduct regular 1:1s, performance reviews, and career development planning.
Advocate for the team’s priorities within the broader engineering and product organization.
Recruit and retain top talent.
Promote a DevOps mindset and continuous delivery culture.
Create inclusive, high-trust environments that empower individuals and teams.
Platform Strategy
Define and execute Salesforce platform administration strategy and roadmap
Drive platform adoption, optimization, simplification and technical debt reduction.
Evaluate new platform capabilities and recommend opportunities for business use cases.
Technical Delivery & Innovation
Own end-to-end delivery of GreatAmerica’s key enterprise/ Salesforce platforms initiatives, ensuring quality, timeliness, and stakeholder satisfaction.
Stay current with platform capabilities and releases. Review, Plan and Communicate Salesforce major releases.
Stay current with Financial Industry platform capabilities, releases, and ecosystem trends.
Drive innovation through evaluation and adoption of new enterprise platform features, tools, and integrations.
Ensure compliance with security, data privacy, and regulatory requirements.
Participate in Solution Review and Architecture Review Forums to uphold platform integrity and best practices.
Architecture, Governance & Administration/Development
Own the end-to-end administration of one or more enterprise/Salesforce platforms
Establish appropriate controls for privileged access and segregation of duties.
Oversee licenses usage, user profiles, permission sets, roles, sharing, security, data quality, workflows, reports / dashboards and other platform configurations.
Partner with IAM for automating user access management.
Review / Evaluate third party packages with vendors and business stakeholders
Implement robust logging, monitor system performance, availability, and usage; proactively address issues and optimize performance.
Collaborate with engineering and business teams to implement customizations, workflows, and integrations.
Maintain platform documentation, configuration standards, and change logs.
Ensure platforms comply with data governance, privacy, and regulatory requirements.
Partner with vendors and internal stakeholders for support escalations, roadmap planning, and feature adoption.
Troubleshoot and resolve enterprise platform issues, ensuring platform health.
Integration & Data Collaboration
Provide OpenAPI Specifications (OAS) for external teams integrating with enterprise platforms.
Collaborate with other teams on data modeling, access, and integration concerns.
Extend support for functional and non-functional testing teams to ensure quality delivery.
Collaboration & Agile Execution
Partner closely with Product Owners and cross-functional teams to understand business needs and translate them into technical solutions.
Participate in agile ceremonies, including sprint planning, demos, grooming, and standups.
Contribute to design discussions, solution reviews, and process improvements.
Support cross-team dependencies and contribute to Agile Release Train planning (SAFe framework experience is a plus).
To be successful in this role you will need:
Education
Bachelor’s degree in Information Systems or related field.
Experience:
8+ years of experience in Enterprise/Salesforce Platform Administration or Systems Engineering.
5+ years of technical leadership and people management preferred
Proven expertise in:
Hands-on configuration, upgrades, and release cycles of Salesforce Platforms (Enterprise Platforms such as Open Finance Platforms, Fiserv and/or other Financial Platforms/Salesforce)
Working in regulated environments
Git workflows, pull request reviews, merge conflict resolution
Agile/Scrum methodologies; SAFe experience preferred
Middleware and cross-platform integrations patterns
Evaluating third party solutions (Salesforce packages).
