We are headquartered in Conroe, Texas and we operate a facility in Livermore, California.
We are looking for an Assembly Mechanic for our Conroe, TX location. This position would report to the Assembly Manager.
SCOPE and PURPOSE
Applies to all activities and guidelines for operations performed by this position. This job description shall be reviewed on a regular basis.
RESPONSIBILITIES
- Assembles drilling equipment and/or the pieces that go into them using power tools, machines, and/or hands.
- Reads detailed schematics or blueprints that show how to assemble the product.
- Verifies conformance of parts to stock list and blueprints, using measuring instruments such as calipers, gauges, and micrometers.
- Lays out hole locations, and drills and taps holes on parts for assembly.
- Aligns components for assembly, manually or with hoist; bolts, screws, dowels, or rivets parts together, using hand tools or rivet gun; or arranges for assembly by welder and electrician.
- Verifies alignment and tolerances of moving parts, using measuring instruments such as dial indicators and thickness gauges.
- Tests operation of the assembly.
- Assembles, sets up, and operates machines to verify functioning, machine capabilities, and conformance to specifications.
- May form and fasten piping, fixtures, and attachments required to service machine with air, water, and oil.
- Will install Hydraulic and Pneumatic components to specifications.
- Makes adjustments as necessary to produce product within specifications.
- Attends toolbox safety meetings.
- Assists in creating JSA's for job scope.
- Performs assembly duties outside on the rig up pads and on the shop floor.
- Maintains work area and equipment organization and cleanliness.
- Appropriately uses timekeeping system for proper labor reporting.
Requirements
- Education and Training – High School education or equivalent or as deemed sufficient by management.
- Technical Requirements – Ability to lift 40 pounds. Blueprint and/or schematic reading. Ability to operate a forklift and overhead crane. Must have assembly experience with drilling equipment (draw-works, top drives, mud pumps, moving systems, etc.). Hydraulic and Pneumatic experience is a plus.
- Experience – As deemed sufficient by management.
