The Opportunity
Are you ready to lead a high-impact purchasing team and help drive operational excellence in a fast-paced manufacturing environment? Hitachi Energy in Alamo, Tennessee is looking for a Purchasing Team Leader to oversee procurement activities that support our manufacturing operations and supply chain performance.
In this role, you will guide a team of purchasing professionals, build strong supplier partnerships, and help ensure materials and services are delivered efficiently, cost-effectively, and in alignment with business objectives. You'll collaborate across planning, inventory, operations, and leadership teams to develop sourcing strategies, improve supplier performance, and identify opportunities for continuous improvement.

How You'll Make an Impact
Lead and support a team of buyers responsible for plant purchasing activities.
Develop strong relationships with suppliers and negotiate favorable terms.
Review purchasing contracts and purchase orders to ensure policy compliance.
Manage procurement processes for materials, equipment, and supplies.
Partner with Planning and Inventory teams to identify cost-saving opportunities.
Resolve supplier concerns and support effective vendor management.
Evaluate bids, supplier proposals, and sourcing strategies.
Monitor market trends, purchasing performance, and departmental budgets.
Your Background
Bachelor's degree in Supply Chain Management, Business Administration, Accounting, or a related field.
Minimum of 5 years of experience in a manufacturing environment.
Experience leading purchasing, procurement, or supply chain activities.
Knowledge of supplier management, sourcing, and contract administration.
Experience with SAP or similar ERP systems preferred.
Must be authorized to work in the United States.
