Director, Product Engineering
Assembly Health is seeking an experienced Director of Product Engineering to lead our software engineering organization through a period of rapid growth, AI innovation, and platform modernization.
Reporting directly to the Chief Technology Officer, the Director of Product Engineering will be responsible for the delivery, quality, and scalability of Assembly's technology products. This leader will oversee engineering execution across multiple product lines, establish modern software development practices, and build a high-performing global engineering organization.
The ideal candidate combines deep technical leadership with operational excellence and has experience building enterprise SaaS platforms in healthcare or similarly regulated industries.
What you will do
Engineering Leadership
- Lead all software engineering teams responsible for Assembly's products and internal platforms
- Build and mentor engineering managers and senior technical leaders
- Create a culture focused on accountability, execution, innovation, and continuous improvement
- Recruit, retain, and develop top engineering talent
- Manage both domestic and offshore engineering organizations
Product Delivery: Own successful delivery of:
- AI-enabled products and automation initiatives
- ARC platform
- Revenue Cycle technology platforms
- HL7 and interoperability solutions
- Customer-facing applications
- Internal operational systems
- Analytics platforms
- API development
Software Development Excellence: Establish best practices and drive engineering velocity while maintaining platform stability
- Agile delivery

Technology Modernization: Partner with the CTO to execute the technology roadmap including:

What it takes to join the team
Required
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or related field
- 15+ years of software engineering experience
- 8+ years leading engineering organizations
- Experience building AI-enabled products
- Proven success building SaaS platforms
- Experience leading Agile engineering organizations
- Experience managing distributed engineering teams
- Strong cloud architecture knowledge (Azure preferred)
- Experience with enterprise integrations and APIs
- Excellent executive communication skills

Compensation for this role is based on a variety of factors, including but not limited to, skills, experience, qualifications, location, and applicable employment laws. The expected salary range for this position reflects these considerations and may vary accordingly. In addition to base pay, eligible employees may have the opportunity to participate in company bonus programs.
