ABOUT THIS OPPORTUNITY:
Boundless Care Inc. is building a trusted roster of experienced caregivers in the Santa Cruz area to support private home care clients as care requests become available.
This is an on-call opportunity, ideal for caregivers who want flexibility while staying connected to meaningful care work. When a client need arises in your area, we’ll reach out to caregivers on our roster whose experience and availability match the case.
Because some care needs may arise unexpectedly, availability for short-notice or same-day assignments is a big plus.
TYPES OF CARE YOU MAY PROVIDE:
- In-Home Care – Hourly, 24/7, or live-in support helping clients remain safe, comfortable, engaged, and independent at home.
- Alzheimer’s & Dementia Care – Specialized memory care focused on comfort, familiarity, safety, and dignity.
- End-of-Life / Hospice Care – Comfort-focused care and emotional support for clients and families during advanced illness.
- Respite Care – Flexible care that provides relief to family caregivers while ensuring consistent and reliable support.
ROLES & RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Provide personal care assistance, including bathing, dressing, grooming, and toileting.
- Assist with mobility, transfers, and ambulation, including the safe use of assistive devices.
- Prepare nutritious meals and provide feeding assistance as needed.
- Provide medication reminders or assistance as permitted by the client’s care plan and applicable regulations.
- Monitor and document client condition and report any significant changes to the appropriate care team or supervisor.
- Provide companionship and emotional support while promoting client dignity and well-being.
- Perform light housekeeping to help maintain a safe and comfortable home environment.
- Follow individualized care plans and adapt to varying client needs and levels of care.
- Communicate effectively with clients, families, and the Boundless Care coordination team.
- Maintain accurate care documentation and complete timely incident reporting when required.
- Protect client confidentiality, dignity, privacy, and rights at all times.
WHAT WE LOOK FOR:
- Valid California Home Care Aide (HCA) registration required.
- Minimum 1 year of hands-on caregiving experience, preferably in a home care setting.
- Experience caring for clients with higher-acuity needs, post-surgical needs, or complex chronic conditions is preferred.
- Experience working with clients with Alzheimer’s or dementia is a plus.
- Availability for short-notice, last-minute, or same-day assignments is a big plus.
- Flexible availability, including occasional weekends or extended shifts, is highly valued.
- Bilingual in English and another language is a plus.
- Reliable transportation and willingness to travel within the Monterey, Carmel, and Santa Cruz areas.
- Current CPR/First Aid certification.
- Ability to successfully complete required background screening and reference verification.
- Strong communication skills with a compassionate, dependable, and professional demeanor.
