Company Overview:  Rueter's, founded in 1951, is a fast-growing company with 7 locations in Iowa and Nebraska. We have been dedicated to providing total customer satisfaction for over seventy years.

Job Function:  The General IT will be responsible for managing and supporting the company's IT systems, ensuring smooth operations across multiple locations. This role involves troubleshooting technical issues, performing system maintenance, supporting network infrastructure, and assisting with technology setups for new employees. The General IT will also provide training and support to end users, as well as assist with technology upgrades and security management. Travel between locations will be required as part of the role.

Key Responsibilities:

• Provide IT support for hardware, software, and network systems.  
• Install, configure, and maintain IT equipment, including desktops, laptops, servers, and printers.  
• Set up and configure new employee computers, ensuring all necessary software and systems are installed and ready for use. 
• Troubleshoot and resolve hardware, software, and network issues.  
• Manage network and server infrastructure, ensuring reliability and security.  
• Perform regular system updates, backups, and recoveries.  
• Monitor IT systems to identify and resolve potential issues proactively.  
• Support end users with troubleshooting, training, and ensuring effective use of IT systems.  
• Assist with the implementation of new IT projects, upgrades, and integrations.  
• Ensure the company’s network and data security by applying appropriate measures and tools.  
• Maintain documentation for IT systems, processes, and procedures.  
• Assist in marketing for the company.
• Travel between all company locations as needed to address on-site IT issues and provide support.  
• Collaborate with leadership to manage IT budgets, vendor relationships, and technology procurement.  

Qualifications:

• 1-2+ years’ experience in general IT support, including desktop support, network troubleshooting, and server maintenance.  
• Associates degree or equivalent experience in information systems, computer science, or a related field.  
• Familiarity with network management, Windows operating systems, and basic server administration.  
• Experience with Office 365, cloud solutions, endpoint security, and backup systems is a plus.  
• Ability to troubleshoot hardware and software issues across a variety of devices and platforms.  
• Experience setting up and configuring new employee computers and ensuring a smooth onboarding process.  
• A proactive problem solver with strong communication and customer service skills.  
• Willingness to travel between locations to resolve IT issues and support users.  

Work Environment:  This role is based at the Elkhart location and operates in an office environment.

Schedule:  Full-time position with working hours Monday to Friday, 8:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m.
