Expectations:
Under the direct supervision of a pharmacist, performs all assigned tasks and services related to medication distribution in an accurate, timely and safe manner. Maintains current California Pharmacy Technician Registration. This position may require flexibility of hours.EDUCATION:
Minimum high school diploma or GED equivalency is required. Diploma or transcripts on highest degree earned required.
EXPERIENCE/TRAINING:
Minimum 2 years hospital pharmacy experience is preferred. For Anticoagulation Dept: Previous experience as a Pharmacy Technician in an acute care hospital, preferred. CPhT issued by the Pharmacy Technician Certification Board (PTCB) preferred.
LICENSES/CERTIFICATIONS:
Required:
Current Registered Pharmacy Technician License issued by California State Board of Pharmacy.
Preferred:
CPhT issued by the Pharmacy Technician Certification Board (PTCB).
SKILLS:
Aseptic Technique, Chemotherapy Compounding Certification, Competency in specialized equipment (Automated Dispensing and Cadet Unit Dosing Machines). Knowledge of Pharmacy Laws and Regulations.
