Looking to Make a Difference in Healthcare

Have you built a career caring for others but are looking for a different kind of healthcare role?

As a Clinical Recovery Technician, you'll make a life-changing impact without the hospital demands of managing multiple patients, navigating call lights, or balancing competing priorities. Instead, you'll focus on one meaningful case at a time, helping provide the gift of sight through cornea donation.

This unique overnight role offers independence, hands-on procedural work, and the opportunity to use your healthcare experience in a mission-driven setting where every case matters.

Why Healthcare Professionals Choose This Role

  • Continue serving a healthcare mission in a non-patient-facing environment.
  • Focus on one case at a time rather than caring for multiple patients simultaneously.
  • Utilize your clinical knowledge, critical thinking, and procedural skills in a unique specialty field.
  • Work independently while remaining supported by an experienced team.
  • Experience the reward of helping restore sight through transplantation.
  • Receive comprehensive training. No prior eye bank or donation experience is required.

What You'll Do

  • Respond to cases overnight, traveling to hospitals, morgues, and funeral homes within the service area.
  • Review donor medical histories and perform donor assessments in accordance with EBAA and FDA standards.
  • Perform surgical recovery of corneal tissue for transplantation and medical research.
  • Collaborate with coordinators, healthcare partners, and recovery team members throughout the donation process.
  • Support training and mentoring efforts as you gain experience in the role.

What Makes This Role Different

Many of our successful team members come from healthcare backgrounds and were looking for:

  • A break from direct patient care.
  • Fewer interruptions and competing priorities.
  • More autonomy in their work.
  • A meaningful mission without the pressures of traditional clinical environments.
  • The opportunity to continue helping others using their healthcare knowledge and skills.

The Ideal Candidate

This role may be a great fit if you are a:

  • CNA, CMA, Medical Assistant, Phlebotomist, EMT, Paramedic, Surgical Technologist, Patient Care Technician, LPN, or other healthcare professional seeking a different path or additional experience in a unique field.
  • Healthcare worker looking to step away from bedside care while remaining connected to a meaningful mission.
  • Independent, self-motivated professional who is comfortable working overnight and managing responsibilities autonomously.
  • Compassionate individual who can approach sensitive situations with professionalism and respect.
  • Strong communicator who remains calm and focused in time-sensitive situations.

No eye bank experience is required. We will teach you everything you need to be successful. What matters most is coachability, professionalism, attention to detail, and a commitment to excellence.

How You'll Be Challenged

  • Overnight travel and on-call response are essential parts of the role.
  • Cases can be emotionally sensitive, requiring professionalism and resilience.
  • Donation services operate 24/7, including weekends and holidays.
  • Some shifts may extend beyond the scheduled end time to ensure donors and recipients are served.
If you're looking for a way to continue making a meaningful impact in healthcare, we'd love to talk with you.
Join a team dedicated to restoring sight and honoring the gift of donation, one case at a time.
