Officer – Quality and Compliance (Maseru Campus)
Qualifications & Experience
- A bachelor’s degree in quality assurance, Education, Curriculum Development, Educational Management, or another relevant field.
- Certification in Quality Assurance, ISO standards, or a related area will be an added advantage.
- · Relevant experience in higher education quality assurance and academic administration is desirable.
- · 3 years of experience is required.
Key Performance Areas (KPAs):
- Ensure every department functions according to BU’s procedures, policies, and guidelines.
- Schedule, conduct and/or coordinate internal and external audits time-to-time.
- Ensure all existing programmes in the campus implement and follows the procedures set by the regulatory body.
General Responsibilities
- Contribute to achieving the University’s vision and mission by implementing approved quality assurance policies, procedures, and standards.
- Support the implementation and maintenance of the University’s Quality Policy and Quality Management System.
- Build and maintain positive working relationships with colleagues, students, partner institutions, regulators, professional bodies, industry representatives, and other stakeholders.
- Maintain a sound understanding of the University’s academic programmes and relevant quality assurance and regulatory requirements.
- Collaborate with colleagues to promote a conducive working, teaching, and learning environment.
Operational Roles and Responsibilities
Support effective academic quality assurance for all University programmes by:
- Conducting routine compliance checks on academic activities, processes, and documentation.
- Supporting the collection and verification of evidence required for programme registration, accreditation, review, and renewal.
- Assisting with internal and external audits, programme reviews, accreditation activities, and regulatory inspections.
- Maintaining accurate and up-to-date quality assurance records, programme documentation, compliance evidence, and audit reports.
- Following up on assigned recommendations and corrective actions and reporting progress to the designated supervisor.
- Supporting the monitoring of programme development, approval, review, accreditation, registration, and renewal dates.
- Performing other assigned quality assurance duties and reporting identified compliance concerns to the designated supervisor.
Skills and Competencies required:on
- Good knowledge of Lesotho’s higher education system and the Lesotho Qualifications Framework (LQF).
- Experience in curriculum development and administration, including the management of assessments.
- Strong people-management skills.
- Excellent written communication and analytical skills.
- Ability to deliver results and meet deadlines.
