Summary
The Lead Software Engineer (LSE) – Functional Microsoft Dynamics 365 Finance & Supply Chain (FSC) serves as the functional leader responsible for designing, implementing, and optimizing enterprise ERP solutions within Microsoft Dynamics 365 Finance & Supply Chain Management (FSCM). This role partners closely with Product Management, Engineering, Customer Success, and Implementation teams to translate complex business requirements into scalable, compliant, and customer-centric ERP solutions.

The LSE acts as a trusted advisor for functional solution design, drives product innovation, mentors engineering and consulting teams, and ensures successful delivery of enterprise capabilities across Finance, Supply Chain, Procurement, Manufacturing, Warehouse Management, and Tax business processes.

Role and Responsibilities:
1. Serve as the functional subject matter expert for Microsoft Dynamics 365 Finance & Supply Chain Management, providing leadership across product design, implementation, and customer engagements.
2. Lead discovery sessions with internal stakeholders and customers to understand business processes, identify gaps, and recommend scalable ERP solutions.
3. Translate complex business requirements into functional specifications, user stories, acceptance criteria, and solution designs for engineering teams.
4. Partner with Product Management to define product vision, roadmap priorities, and feature enhancements that align with customer and market needs.
5. Lead functional solution design reviews, ensuring alignment with Microsoft best practices, product strategy, and enterprise architecture.
6. Provide guidance on ERP configurations, business process optimization, workflow design, security roles, and system setup across Finance and Supply Chain modules.
7. Collaborate with Engineering teams to ensure functional requirements are implemented accurately while minimizing customization and maximizing product configurability.
8. Drive functional validation, User Acceptance Testing (UAT), and customer demonstrations throughout the product lifecycle.
9. Lead backlog refinement, PI Planning, sprint planning, and release readiness activities from a functional perspective.
10. Support customer escalations by performing functional root cause analysis and partnering with engineering to deliver timely resolutions.
11. Champion product ownership by ensuring delivered solutions meet customer expectations, regulatory requirements, and business objectives.
12. Drive adoption of Microsoft best practices for ERP implementation, business process standardization, and digital transformation.
13. Mentor functional consultants, business analysts, product owners, and engineering teams on Dynamics 365 capabilities and business process design.
14. Partner with AI and Product teams to identify opportunities for Copilot, AI-assisted workflows, and business process automation within Dynamics 365.
15. Act as a cross-functional leader capable of supporting Product Owner, Scrum Master, and Solution Architect responsibilities when needed.

Must have skills:

2. Extensive experience implementing enterprise ERP solutions across Finance and Supply Chain business processes.

7. Experience designing and executing functional test automation for Microsoft Dynamics 365 Finance & Supply Chain using Regression Suite Automation Tool (RSAT) to validate end-to-end business processes across Finance and Supply Chain modules.
8. Ability to design, maintain, and execute automated business process validation using Microsoft Playwright for web-based user interface testing, ensuring high-quality functional validation of ERP workflows and product releases
9. Strong experience leading customer workshops, solution demonstrations, fit-gap analysis, and implementation planning.
10. Excellent communication skills with the ability to explain complex ERP concepts to technical and non-technical audiences.
11. Experience leading enterprise ERP implementations across multiple releases.
12. Strong stakeholder management skills with executive-level communication capabilities.
13. Experience mentoring functional consultants, business analysts, and cross-functional teams.
14. Proven ability to lead cross-functional initiatives spanning Product, Engineering, Customer Success, and Professional Services.

Good to have skills:
1. Functional knowledge of Microsoft Dynamics 365 Commerce, including retail headquarters configuration, Store Commerce/POS, e-Commerce, Call Center, and omnichannel retail capabilities.
2. Strong understanding of Commerce architecture, including Retail Headquarters, Commerce Scale Unit (CSU), Store Commerce/POS, and e-Commerce components.
3. Experience with Microsoft Power Platform including: Power Automate, Power Apps, Power BI Dataverse
4. Understanding of Dual Write, Business Events, OData, and Data Management Framework (DMF).
5. Knowledge of Microsoft Copilot capabilities within Dynamics 365.
6. Familiarity with AI-assisted business process automation using Microsoft Copilot Studio and AI Builder.
7. Understanding of tax, e-Invoicing, regulatory compliance, and financial reporting processes.
8. Experience supporting enterprise customers through digital transformation initiatives.
9. Familiarity with Agile, Scrum, and SAFe methodologies.
10. Knowledge of Responsible AI principles and governance for enterprise applications.

Educational Qualification:
1. B.S. in Computer Science or Software Engineering, or equivalent education and experience
2. 10-12+ years of experience in application design, development and delivery
3. Or equivalent combination of education and/or experience
