Job Details

Supports the Acquisition Specialist in the review and processing of the requirements of the asset inventory, OR and individual requesters and products and services. Assures timeliness of order placement and delivery. Maximizes the use of the institution’s contracted vendors and products within pre-established limits in accordance with established procurement policies and procedures. Makes every effort to consolidate orders for particular vendors to minimize activity fees, order processing and fees and shipping expense.

Job Description

Schedule: Monday - Friday (8 am - 4:30 pm)

No weekends. No holidays.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:

  • Place approved orders directly with vendors via phone,fax,EDI or other appropriate methods.  Expedite orders to assure products or services are received when needed on an as requested basis.
  • Communicate regularly with the Acquistion Specialist and the Inventory Control Manager to keep them apprised of the status of ongoing projects, tasks and any problems that arise during the course of performing your duties.
  • Investigates and reconciles any expense problems raised by internal customers.  Takes corrective action to eliminate future errors.  Responsible to proactively avoid match-audit errors by updating purchasing and receiving documents for quantity and/or amount of unit of purchase.
  • Follow-up expedited orders to ensure arrival to requester or storeroom.  Communicate regularly with Acquisition Specialist and Contract Manager to stay current on product standards and vendor relationships.
  • Interacts with co-workers, visitors, and other staff consistent with the core values of the Hospital.

EDUCATIONAL/TRAINING REQUIREMENTS:

  • High School Diploma required. 
  • Bachelor’s Degree preferred.

EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS:

  • 1-3 years experience in Materials Management or related Hospital CS/Storeroom field. 
  • PC proficient with experience in MS Word, Excel.
