Senior Legal Assistant: Litigation

About the role:
- Preparing court filings, affidavits, subpoenas, briefs and service documents.
- Managing execution packs, DocuSign, cost agreements and disclosures.
- Opening, maintaining and closing matters, including conflicts, AML and KYC.
- Monitoring court dates, deadlines and key milestones.
- Maintaining accurate and well-organised electronic files.
- Assisting with billing, WIP, unbilled time and debtor reports.
- Following up overdue invoices and escalating problem accounts.
- Managing disbursements and trust-related administration.
- Providing first-line support across the firm’s legal technology systems.
- Identifying system issues and recommending process improvements.
- Managing client correspondence, scheduling and matter updates.
The ideal candidate:
- An experienced Legal Secretary or Legal Assistant with strong litigation or dispute resolution experience.
- A solid understanding of court processes, litigation documents and the practical requirements of running a file.
- Strong document production, formatting and proofreading skills.
- Experience independently supporting busy lawyers and managing competing deadlines.
- Highly organised, proactive and confident taking ownership of matters.
- Strong attention to detail and a genuine pride in producing high-quality work.
- Comfortable learning new technology and becoming the internal expert across legal systems.
- Clear and professional communication skills with lawyers, clients and external stakeholders.
Experience with Actionstep, legal AI platforms, billing, WIP, debtors or process improvement will be highly regarded.
