Director – Fixed Income Swap Desk Technology Support and Implementation
In this role you will be responsible for the stability, support, and continuous improvement of the technology platforms that enable the Rates and Swap trading businesses. You will serve as the primary liaison between Front Office users, technology teams, infrastructure groups, vendors, and control functions, ensuring the reliable operation of critical trading, pricing, risk, and electronic execution platforms.
This position combines hands-on production support, platform ownership, incident management, project delivery, and business engagement, with a strong focus on maintaining a high-availability trading environment and delivering technology solutions that support business growth and regulatory obligations.
Key Responsibilities
Trading Platform Support & Operations
- Provide day-to-day support for Fixed Income Rates and Swap trading platforms.
- Monitor critical production systems, interfaces, market connectivity, pricing feeds, and electronic trading workflows.
- Manage and resolve production incidents, coordinating across development, infrastructure, networking, market data vendors, and business users.
- Lead root cause analysis and drive corrective actions following production issues.
- Ensure adherence to support procedures, escalation protocols, and operational controls.
Business Engagement
- Act as a primary technology contact for Swap traders, sales personnel, middle office, and operations teams.
- Partner with business stakeholders to understand requirements, prioritize enhancements, and identify opportunities for automation.
- Communicate platform status, incidents, project updates, and operational risks to senior management and business leadership.
- Produce regular operational and service-level reporting for stakeholders.
Electronic Trading & Connectivity
- Support electronic trading platforms and client connectivity solutions utilized by the Swap business.
- Coordinate onboarding and certification activities with trading venues, brokers, vendors, and counterparties.
- Monitor electronic order flow, trade execution performance, and connectivity health.
- Work with development teams to implement and validate enhancements to electronic trading capabilities.
Project Delivery & Change Management
- Lead technology initiatives supporting new products, regulatory requirements, infrastructure upgrades, and platform modernization efforts.
- Coordinate testing, release planning, deployment activities, and post-implementation validation.
- Partner with developers and business users to define requirements and successfully deliver technology solutions.
- Ensure production readiness and operational supportability of new releases.
Risk, Controls & Governance
- Maintain strong operational controls across supported platforms.
- Support audit, compliance, SOX, and user access review activities.
- Document support procedures, recovery processes, and system dependencies.
- Identify operational risks and implement preventative controls to improve platform resilience.
Vendor & Third-Party Management
- Engage with external technology vendors and trading venues to resolve issues and coordinate upgrades.
- Oversee vendor incident escalations and service delivery performance.
- Manage technology relationships that support the Swap trading ecosystem.
Leadership
- Provide technical leadership and mentorship to support personnel and junior team members.
- Drive continuous improvement initiatives focused on automation, monitoring, observability, and operational efficiency.
- Foster strong collaboration across Front Office Technology, Infrastructure, Operations, Risk, and Compliance teams.
Required Qualifications
- Extensive experience supporting Fixed Income, Rates, or OTC Derivatives trading businesses.
- Strong understanding of Swap trading workflows, trade lifecycle processing, and electronic trading environments.
- Proven experience in production support, incident management, and technology operations.
- Knowledge of market connectivity, vendor platforms, and front-office trading systems.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Excellent communication and stakeholder management abilities.
- Experience leading cross-functional technology initiatives in a mission-critical environment.
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience supporting Rates, IRS, Swaps, Futures, or related Fixed Income products.
- Familiarity with electronic execution venues and market data platforms.
- Working knowledge of SQL, scripting, monitoring tools, and troubleshooting distributed systems.
- Experience with regulatory and control frameworks applicable to Front Office technology organizations.

The expected base salary ranges from $150k-$240k. Salary offers are based on a wide range of factors including relevant skills, training, experience, education, and, where applicable, certifications and licenses obtained. Market and organizational factors are also considered. In addition to salary and a generous employee benefits package, successful candidates are eligible to receive a discretionary bonus.
