What you'll do...
The General Manager is responsible for leading all aspects of a high-volume grocery distribution center, ensuring operational excellence in safety, quality, service, productivity, talent development, and financial performance. This role drives strategic initiatives, fosters a culture of accountability and continuous improvement, and ensures the facility consistently delivers outstanding results for customers, associates, and the business.Key Responsibilities
Strategic Leadership & Operational Excellence
- Develop, execute, and oversee the facility’s business plan to achieve operational goals related to safety, quality, service, productivity, and financial performance.
- Identify and implement strategic improvements that enhance efficiency, optimize resources, and support long-term growth.
- Lead complex distribution operations while maintaining alignment with organizational priorities and customer expectations.
- Monitor performance metrics and operational trends to drive data-informed decision-making and continuous improvement initiatives.
Financial & Resource Management
- Direct the financial performance of the distribution center by managing budgets, controlling expenses, and maximizing asset utilization.
- Review, analyze, and communicate business performance reports to identify opportunities and risks.
- Ensure effective allocation of labor, equipment, and operational resources to meet business demands and service level expectations.
Workforce Planning & Talent Leadership
- Approve and oversee workforce planning strategies to ensure staffing levels support current and future operational requirements.
- Build and develop high-performing leadership teams through coaching, mentoring, succession planning, and performance management.
- Lead hiring, promotion, development, and talent retention efforts to strengthen organizational capability.
- Foster a culture of engagement, accountability, recognition, and growth.
Safety, Quality & Compliance
- Champion a culture of safety by ensuring adherence to company, regulatory, and logistics standards.
- Maintain facility-wide compliance with quality, food safety, operational, and environmental requirements.
- Develop, implement, and sustain policies, procedures, training programs, and supporting documentation to drive consistent execution.
- Conduct regular reviews of operational processes to mitigate risk and ensure continuous compliance.
Customer, Supplier & Stakeholder Relations
- Build strong partnerships with customers, suppliers, and internal stakeholders to support operational success.
- Resolve complex associate, customer, and supplier concerns by conducting thorough investigations and making sound, fact-based decisions.
- Communicate effectively across all levels of the organization to align priorities and drive results.

- Serve as an ambassador for the company within the local community by participating in civic organizations, charitable initiatives, and company-sponsored programs.

The annual salary range for this position is $180,000.00 - $270,000.00 Additional compensation includes annual or quarterly performance bonuses. Additional compensation for certain positions may also include :
