Position Summary
A Brief OverviewProvides safe, prompt transportation services to patients and family members to, from and between hospital locations as requested.
Responsibilities
What you will do
- Operates vehicle in a safe and responsible manner.
- Reads maps and determines the most direct route between destinations.
- Effectively communicates with guests and family. Demonstrates sensitivity to the needs and concerns of others through actions as well as verbal communications.
- Presents a consistently professional image in dress, hygiene and communications.
- Uses knowledge of the services provided at various hospital locations to provide assistance to guests as needed.
- Performs daily inspection, maintenance and cleanliness of vehicle.
- Assesses vehicle operating condition at the start of each shift, and documents any operating problems and maintenance needs and notifies the manager for resolution.
- Accurately records and reports passenger transportation statistics and vehicle mileage data for vehicles.
- Maintains reasonably regular, punctual attendance consistent with Orlando Health policies, the ADA, FMLA and other federal, state and local standards.
- Maintains compliance with all Orlando Health policies and procedures.
- May use a portable radio to receive and respond to requests for transportation and must be familiar with proper communications procedures and protocols.
- May pickup and deliver mail, supplies and/or special items as requested for department.
- Performs other duties as assigned.
Qualifications
Qualifications
- High school graduate or equivalent.
- None.
- Maintains current Heartsaver CPR-AED Certification.
- Valid Florida driver’s license and must be insurable under the Orlando Health insurance carrier’s requirements and standards.
