OVERVIEW
Job Title: Student Conversion Operations Assistant
Location: St. Paul
Pay: $22 per hour
Hours: TBD
Position Summary:
The Student Conversion Assistant supports the arena operations team in preparing and maintaining event spaces for a variety of activities, including sporting events, concerts, and special functions. This role involves physical labor, attention to detail, and the ability to work in a fast-paced environment.
Key Responsibilities
· Safely lift, move, and transport objects weighing 50 pounds or more.
· Set up and tear down event equipment, including:
· Chairs, tables, and railings
· Platforms and staging
· Basketball court flooring
· Ice decking and dasher boards
· Glass installation and removal for hockey events
· Temporary stair systems
· Assist with conversions between event types (e.g., ice rink to basketball court).
· Maintain a clean and organized work area during and after setups.
· Follow all safety protocols and operational guidelines.
· Perform other duties as assigned by the Operations Supervisor.
Preferred Skills
· Previous experience in event setup or manual labor is a plus.
· Knowledge of basic hand tools and equipment handling
QUALIFICATIONS
Qualifications
· Must be enrolled as a student.
· Ability to lift and carry 50 pounds or more repeatedly.
· Comfortable working in a physically demanding environment.
· Ability to work flexible hours, including evenings, weekends, and holidays.
· Strong teamwork and communication skills.
· Reliability and punctuality are essential.
ELIGIBILITY
To be eligible for student employment, St. Thomas students must be degree seeking at the undergraduate, graduate and doctoral levels.
