Job Description

Supports Children's Healthcare of Atlanta mission through integration of data from multiple modalities and derivation of additional information from image data through the use of advanced image processing techniques.

Experience

  • 3 years of experience in image processing and programming

Education

  • Master's degree or PhD in Mathematics, Computer Science, Physics, Engineering or related field; or equivalent experience with Bachelor's degree in lieu of Master's requirement.

Certification Summary

  • No professional certifications required

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities

  • Familiarity with computer operating systems and good programming skills

  • Familiarity with the manipulation of DICOM data

  • Familiarity with intra and inter modality image registration

Job Responsibilities

  • Develops methodologies that permit reliable co-registration of data from different imaging modalities or multiple studies obtained using a single modality.

  • Supports clinical investigations by developing advanced image processing techniques.

  • Makes processed data accessible to radiologists and clinicians via picture archiving and communication system.

  • Interfaces with magnetic resonance vendors to promote joint research projects.

  • Collaborates with Emory University to enhance research capabilities.

  • Provides image processing support for neurosciences and other service lines at Children's Healthcare of Atlanta.

  • Supports departmental microscopy radiology certification and accreditation programs.
